Hi Folks

I tried the above procedure but on recovery sytem update failed!!! no update package found error showing please help
mine is EVA-C185, installed Maisk v4
Previous build was B399

Which above procedure?
Your model is EVA-L09 or EVA-L19? And cust c185, okay.
You have currently MRv4 Magisk Edition installed - and before you was on Stock b399, right?
Which update failed, which update to you want to apply?

Sorry for replying late
Mine is EVA-L19 and previous build was B399, I was trying to install stock ROM of same build B399 through HWOTA method but on recovery it's showing "software installation failed, no update package found"
I followed procedure correctly with out any error

Then you did something wrong...
Start again from the beginning. Download the Firmware first for EVA-L19C185B399:
update.zip:

This one rename in: update_full_hw.zip (and not in update_full_hw.zip.zip)

update_data_full_public.zip:

Create folder in the main directory of the external SD with the name: HWOTA
Copy inside the Firmware zip files (one zip renamed)

Do the steps exactly as described in the Guide:

VoLTE is dependent from your mobile network carrier.
If I insert SIM from Vodafone, VoLTE isn't in the menu. Only WiFi Calling. And then I get sms from Vodafone that it costs money to activate.
But if I insert SIM from O2, VoLTE is showing in the menu. And it costs no money. But then WiFi Calling isn't showing...

If you haven't luck with HWOTA (can't imagine) then try it with HuRUpdater (search on xda)
It's similar than HWOTA, but you must rename two zip files. You can copy TWRP renamed in recovery.img into the update folder together with Firmware zip files and HuRUpdater.
After update TWRP is installed too. This is working also from internal storage.
HWOTA from the Guide here is working from external SD.

It's impossible to know. Only if someone tried it and shared his experience..
I really don't know. As you see it's different on my own phone with c432 (depending on which SIM Card I insert..)

Guys,
I'm almost a month on MagicRainbow v4 SuperSU and it's great but I think I don't have some extra features and options. Every custom ROM I've been using on Samsung, LG,Moto, Huawei had an extra configurable options in settings for e.g custom notification, navigation bar, CPU tweak etc and there is no that kind of feature in my MagicRainbow.... I've checked attached screenshot by OP of this thread and there is an extra options in "Advanced Settings" like VIP settings, Mipop settings, Tune CPU GPU or mentioned earlier Notification settings..... I can't rid off those Chinese fonts in status bar called Lunar or something because I don't have K-Setting or so...
Pls, take a look on my Advanced Settings screenshot and About Phone and let me know if I missed something during ROM installation or what ??

Hi and welcome
K-Settings is the short name for KangVs Advanced Settings, which are not in native settings, but on Homescreen (since Android 7)
"To disable chinese letters after flashing this mod in statusbar - open Advanced Settings /Notification settings and disable "Show statusbar Lunar"
It's written in OP - so may you read First Post to get more information...
BTW: Don't use "Hide Navigation Bar" - it's currently only working in chinese Brands (AL10, AL00)

BTW do you know how could I run icon notification badges using this ROM ? I'm using Smart Launcher 5 Pro and it doesn't support badges unfortunately but I don't want to change it to other one with badges feature. Idk why this still is not standard Android functionality...
EDIT: nvm I just found out SL5 has a notification badges feature implemented - very simple just a dot - nice color dot but this is enough for me.
Of course if MR offers something better that would be great

Android Oreo will have this feature.
We will see, if P9 get Oreo. In China Oreo Firmware (without log = without Beta) is released.
It's not 100 % sure if we will get it for the European devices, but I think it will come.
If not, we will try to find a unofficial way.
However, notification badges will be included in Oreo MR

It's not possible to rebrand to Chinese.
Not with usual way. I tried it with AL00, AL10, DL00
Rebranding was working but I have no IMEI after and that's why no mobile network..
Maybe it's possible to rebrand with FunkyHuawei - I don't spend yet money for that.

The Rom can not be used as it is on Nougat.
Perhaps only system.img can be used.
But this is then a mix of Oreo and Nougat..
I don't waste my time for experiments before Oreo isn't officially released for European devices.
And I am sure, it will come.

SuperSU if you don't care about safetynet. Magisk isn't as stable as supersu in my experience.

Both SuperSU and Magisk provide root but Magisk can hide root for selected apps like banking apps etc.

With SuperSU you could use Xpose and its modules but Xpose doesn't work well with EMUI 5 (you can search about in this thread).
Magisk provides its own set of modules (although less number of modules than the number of Xpose modules), and even Xpose is one such module for Magisk (but again, there are problems with Xpose).

Hence no brainer, you should go for (newer) Magisk (instead of the old SuperSU).

Abd more users run MR v4 Magisk, hence you will have better communitt support than for MR v4 SuperSU
