Magisk isn't stable after v16.3.
This is because the developer topjohnwu been in the military for the past few months.
I am using v16.1 without problems. I have only updated Magisk Manager.
Latest stable release is v16.0, it would not auto-update to beta v16.1-v16.4 by default.
I'm also using v16.1 without a problem

Of course, stable release is v16.
But Beta v16.1 until 16.3 is "stable" as well, but currently not higher Beta versions.
For some other devices, which have already Oreo, v16.3 is more "stable" as v16 stable release.
That's what I meant.

I also don't use Beta Channel for auto-update. You are right, that's not recommended.

It's not possible to rebrand to Chinese.
Not with usual way. I tried it with AL00, AL10, DL00
Rebranding was working but I have no IMEI after and that's why no mobile network..
Maybe it's possible to rebrand with FunkyHuawei - I don't spend yet money for that.

The Rom can not be used as it is on Nougat.
Perhaps only system.img can be used.
But this is then a mix of Oreo and Nougat..
I don't waste my time for experiments before Oreo isn't officially released for European devices.
And I am sure, it will come.
Later as expected, but it will :)
Bro of course you loose your imei its normal
you must backup from you nvram and restore it again
there is so many way to fix imei

Okay. But I had never lost the IMEI when I had rebranded from EVA-AL10 to EVA-L19 or EVA-L09 to EVA-L19 or debranded Vodafone or Telekom to c432.
But soon I rebranded from EVA-L09 to EVA-AL00 (+AL10, +DL00) I lost my IMEI. Perhaps because all chinese EVA are DUAL-SIM Phones, I dont know.
I tried to fix it with DCPhonix/Unlocker HCU Client - but it did not work. I spent a lot of time with many Factory Resets and Unlocking Bootloader and flashing TWRP and so on. After all trying I was demotivated....
I rebranded back to c432 and IMEI was back again.

Perhaps it would be possible with FunkyHuawei Rebranding method to convert EVA-L09 to EVA-AL10. But I did not want to buy 7 credits for it.

If you find any way to rebrand to chinese modell, I would be interested too:

@reynard1 If you try to debrand to AL with my provided oeminfos, you can try to do following (as soon you are on Chinese Firmware)
"Unknown or invalid IMEI: Use any root file manager and go to cust/all/cn/prop/local.prop and edit local.prop change the line full network support: true to false"
@dkionline
found this tip today...
Don't know if it's working, but please report

Hey!
Has someone played with settings in KA-Mod Reborn? Like CPU, I/O Scheduler, Low memory killer ir Virtual memory? Maybe you have some recomended (must-have) settings for better overall perfomance without sacrifising a lot? Or just leave everything in stock settings and not play with it?

Look at posts #92 - #97 in this thread - I was unable to get it saved the settings as changed, they have always been reverted to the predefined/default ones.

Also #208 - #209, #213.... - XDA has a nice feature 'Search thread' and you can search for Reborn, CPU, Scheduler....

Kernel Auditor Mod Reborn and the version before (without the flag: reborn) does not work.
But the original one perhaps can work (without "mod" or "reborn" flag)
I will upload the apk later.
I have tested on Mate 10.

This is original KernelAdiutor by Grarak from this Thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-kernel-adiutor-t2986129
But if you use the latest one from Playstore, you have always advertising displays and you can not enable features without buying the app...

Thats why use the attached apk from here! You get just one time a message for purchasing the app, but you can cancle it and have all features enabled. I have tested this app on Android Oreo, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Lite. I have no time yet to test it with P9, so please give me feedback. Thanks :)

BTW: Open native settings and search for "Akku optimization" - in settings Akku optimization choose "all apps" and search for KernelAdiutor.
"Allow" KernelAdiutor to be prevented from Akku optimization.

Thanks for your feedback!
@zgfg You can try to do what want to change with this app. Please report
Just shortly tested, I have changed CPU Governor both for Big and Little, and after reboot, changes have been successfully applied.

In Settings it is not needed to enable (On boot) Script - it works by default without.
It shows notification but if I enabled Toast, it did not pop-up (doesn't matter).
So far so good - now it's matter of tuning the CPU settings per needs.

PS: Of course, this app, Kernel Adoutor must be enabled for Auto Launch (if PMPlus unleashed)

Yes, this wouldn't work.
To apply OTA Firmware Update, your phone must be:
1) unrooted (no Root) - restored original boot.img
2) Stock EMUI Recovery installed (no TWRP)
3) You must be on Stock Firmware (not on any Custom Rom)
4) In Systemupdate settings you must choose: Download /install current full package (= some GB) - it will not work only with normal OTA files (some MB)

It is true that Huawei will remove Oreo for P9?
Actually I met a Huawei employee today and he told me that there will be no Oreo for European P9 devices.
For this reason, I am currently working on a Tool to rebrand to AL10 without loss of IMEI.
But for the first I am in vacation.
Soon I am back and if the Tool is ready I will open a new Thread for rebranding and updating to Oreo.
(If not anybody else did it before me) :)
