I am very pleased with this rom.
Thank you Tecalote.
One quick question, I am trying to revert boot animation back to stock, i have extracted the bootanimation.zip from the original firmware but i cannot paste it on /product/etc/media. I think that i don't have write permissions for this folder.
Any ideas?
I created a zip file and tried to flash it with twrp but this failed and i am now stuck (device boots normal no probs) with the android logo (fading white to gray) boot animation, which is better than the epileptic animation originally in magic rainbow v2 (i am epileptic no offence to dev's taste). Can someone provide me with a flashable zip with the original EMUI 5 Huawei bootanimation?

P.S. I am attaching my zip

Thanx once again.
Hello again :) I have answered you in Post #525 and #527.
I have looked into your zip - it cannot work, because it has the updater-script from P9 Lite - P9 Lite is different than P9.
In P9 theres a limited space in product/etc/media. You cannot rename there the current bootanimation.zip and paste another inside, because two times 18.8 MB are too much. Bootanimation for P9 cannot have more than 21 MB. So I had same problem as you when I created my "epileptic" bootanimation and tested it first time ;)
After flashing I had same as you only the generic Android Bootanimation, because installation failed.
I tried to restore without succes. Even restoring a Nandroid Backup from product did not solve it. And also not flashing the original Huawei Bootanimation. The permission to this space is very restricted.
I was going back to Stock b386 and I did it with TWRP (as I described in the Thread) - because even dload flashing of b386 did not solve the Bootanimation issue. It is because dload dont restore things you have deleted or modified.
Thats why I always recommend - going back to Stock first with TWRP flashing method and immediately after with dload method. I dont know if you are happy to do all this work only for having back original Huawei Bootanimation. But if you had asked me first instead of making experiments I already have done... I would have you provided this zip atached in this post

It can be flashed with TWRP and changes the MagicRainbow Bootanimation to original Huawei Bootanimation - without problems - but only, if there is nothing modified before.

BTW: For disable and enable Bootanimation Sound you can use Settings / Sound / Power on tone (in German: Einschaltton)

Do not use this zip in MagicRainbow v3 - there you can find in #2 the related one to MRv3

NewWorld 7 to MagicRainbow 2

Hi Tecalote,

long time no hear, last time was on android-hilfe in your NewWorld thread with another alias and I see you're still very active. ;)
And that's also exactly where my question comes from:

Since you really did a good job with your NewWorld-ROM, I was happy with it and reluctant to change until now...So I'm still "stuck" with your NewWorld 7 Rom.
Thus, I'm sorry if it had already been asked, but could you or someone else maybe just very briefly show up the fastest way of how I can get from NewWorld 7 (Marshmallow) to the latest MagicRainbow 2 Rom?
That would be super helpful. Since it's already passed nearly a year since my last flash and a lot changed, I'm a little out of training and could maybe use some professional advise.
Probably the rough order of which firmwares to flash would be sufficient. I guess something like NewWorld 7 --> Latest Stock Marshmallow (which one?) --> Stock Nougat (directly to b386?) --> Magic Rainbow?

Thanks a lot in advance already!
Best regards, celz

@ceLsiuZ Hi man, nice to meet you again :)
I will make a detailed Guide for you to come up to MagicRaibow - soon I get time. Probably today or tomorrow
Thank you very much Tecalote, that's super nice of you. But really, don't spend too much time on it, just some rough waypoints would be fine.
And no stress, after nearly a year on NewWorld I don't mind some more days. ;)

Best regards,
celz

I just try now to set 8 gb instead 9gb and 1st day still stay.
I set it yesterday and works. I will see how it does on the end of the month - if it count until the 5. of next month or if it changes on 30. of this month (I don't believe)
There's another option too - its possible to correct the data in first window (pencil symbol)

Can you please upload for me to MEGA or somwhere else your b387 Firmware for L19c185 (update.zip and data.zip) - I tried do download today, but all Links are dead (even the one you used some days ago)
With Firmware Finder app, you can change model when looking for firmwares, and it still finds b387 FullOTA-MF-PV and other builds for L19 c185

Btw, I have just downloaded ZIPs from Firmwares under for b390 for my L09c432

I have just tested right now - everything perfect.
Just download and install, after flashing go to Restart :good:
Magisk v14 and Magisk Manager v5.3.0 also fine for me

That's good.

But in case of Firmware Finder - I know that with change model - and it finds also b387 Full Firmware, but when you go to the download button you receive the message :
"it seems Firmware is deleted on the server"

Hmm, yes, for L19 c185 it does not allow downloading b487 and b388, but it allows e.g. b385 and b390

Similarly for L09 c432, some builds are also already deleted
