Hi. I also have a Huawei W1 from Straight Talk and would like to know if you were successful in unlocking the phone, as I would like to unlock my to use with a AT&T branded sim and plan.
If you're using Straight Talk on the AT&T network; you should be able to simply put the branded AT&T sim card in and you're good to go. I'm not aware that if you buy the device from Straight Talk it's locked to begin with.

only shutdown does work, everything else doesn't.

how you can edit/rebuild the ffu files ?
if you can really do that *maybe* you can Create custom ROMs for Nokia Phones too (but with unlocked bootloaders that I think only Developer Devices has unlock boot loader)
duh, what's the point of building ROMs for not yet hacked devices? To enlarge "sense of self importance"?

i didn't get your mind correctly
if you mean i see my self only you are 100% think wrong. My device is a normal device that i developer unlocked it and it's not a developer device.
maybe we will be able to unlock other devices boot loader using Advanced Turbo Flasher (aft) as it was possible in some WP7 nokia Lumia devices

I wasn't about your "sense of self-importance", but the one of "unknown developer" who would do that.

you can unlock via riffbox (which is basically also JTAG as ATF) even now, but in that case you won't need FFU support as well as you will be able to push updated files directly to eMMC.

But I thought the JTAG fuses were blown on non-engineering phones :

and that's also not that easy ( retail)

because the wp8 phones also have so called E-fuse in Soc
on retail they are blown ( even the Jtag E-fuses are blown)
But I did find some references to a SecureBootKey : Samsung.M8X60SOC.SecureBootKey.dsm.xml located at Samsung ATIV S\Phone\Windows\Packages\DsmFiles and Samsung.M8X60SOC.SecureBootKey.cat located at Samsung ATIV S\Phone\Windows\System32\CATROOT\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}, so maybe they aren't blown after all (also taking in account the unconfirmed Nokia Lumia 920 unlock in progress by Silen also making use of a riffbox).

Truth is that it is Microsoft's requirement. But even according to those OEMs might leave mechanisms temporarily enabling JTAG functionality. [sarcasm]But, largely, who cares about requirements of those small useless companies? [/sarcasm]

(also taking in account the unconfirmed Nokia Lumia 920 unlock in progress by Silen also making use of a riffbox).
It can easily be called confirmed as there is nothing new. It is known that it should work.
