Huge display color temperature difference in Demo units

So I went to the Samsung 837 experience store here in New York City and got a chance to play with the phones. Both S8 and S8+ are stunning. However I have observed a huge color temperature difference in the display panels of couple demo units here. They were running the same display settings. Please see the attached pic. Sorry for poor quality.

I personally love the whiter display and hate the yellowish tint on phone screens.

That's really bad. I remember some S6's had salmon pink displays.
Perhaps it's some kind of night shift feature, the devices may have had different time zones, etc.
We can only hope!
My Note 7 had the best AMOLED display of any device, PERIOD!

This happen on the HTC One.
I had my phone and had no problems with it then got the pink camera problem.
Was sent another one that has the yellowing screen. Got a third one that was fine.
Most of the time its a bad lcd screen. And if you get one call who ever you got it from and tell them and they normally replace it easy

That is very shocking. The Note7 display was INCREDIBLE. I fully expect these to be even better. Hopefully it's as someone else mentioned... maybe they used poor grade panels for demo units on purpose? Or maybe someone changed another display related setting somewhere... either way, I don't care too much about the color temp as long as its a UNIFORM display.

Don't forget that you can change the color temps on the phones in the settings. As this is demo units, the chance is high that someone have been messing around in those options and changed the color temps on those phones.

Same goes for the so called 'burn-ins' on the Super AMOLED screens'. Most peoples are complaining that they see 'burn-ins' on the demo units in the stores. But that's because the screens are on all the time there and are being messed with all day long.

So for normal usage as how we users are using them, you wont experience 'burn-ins' on your phones with Super AMOLED screens. Or the chance of seeing it that way is extremely tiny or non-existant.

I was just about to say you can have night mode to help with darker rooms. That's what the other screen looks like.

Every phone with an Amoled display has some variances between devices, it is very minimal and you won't notice unless you look for it and you compare screens. It happens with LCDs sometimes too.

Two things....
First, why in the HELL is the time different on the two phones? Isnt it set by the carrier??? Did someone change it manually? lol

Anyways on to the important thing, whats the additional icon in the notification area? Its only on one of the units. Im curious if that would represent one of the night mode settings or something that could be on as suggested?

Lol, no idea about the time. I didn't notice that. The other icon you see is something they call Retail Demo mode or something like that. I was unable to disable that. However both the phones were running in this mode. I completely agree with the chance of someone messing up with the RGB values, I forgot to check that. However Erica's video shows that the displays can have different temperature even when there values are set the same. I am not loosing my sleep over this as I know that I can adjust the RGB and get the color temperature I want.

You can only change the color temp when using Adaptive Display, and Erica clearly showed the RGB settings were equal and also tried different modes - that was not the issue.

I noticed the same thing while watching demo units at the Amsterdam airport. Some units had pinkish tint. Normally if you look straight at the screen it is not that visible, but then if you look from little angle the screen gets really pink. Besides that one unit had visible pink on the edges of the screen (at the top), even if you looked straight at it. It was definitely not the software issue as all phones had the same display settings. I'm really concerned right now. Out of four S8+ half had this issue and for S8 only one.
