Huge display color temperature difference in Demo units

I noticed the same thing while watching demo units at the Amsterdam airport. Some units had pinkish tint. Normally if you look straight at the screen it is not that visible, but then if you look from little angle the screen gets really pink. Besides that one unit had visible pink on the edges of the screen (at the top), even if you looked straight at it. It was definitely not the software issue as all phones had the same display settings. I'm really concerned right now. Out of four S8+ half had this issue and for S8 only one.
Or you could wait till you get it and have a problem before creating one.

There is an included RGB slider setting inside adaptive display settings to calibrate your panel.
Did you watch the video - both devices were set to the same RGB settings and they were vastly different in terms of starting point - so it may not be possible to achieve the same colour point on every device.
Looks like it may be the good old OLED lottery again.

Yes, I watched the video.
You should be able to have the displays with the same colour but with different RGB slider points (obviously, since they are different). If yours is still off at all points of the three sliders your panel is bad.

Without actual devices in circulation arguing here is pointless and assuming issues is also pointless.
Release is a week away and we'll see if this is even an issue.

I agree - just wanted to point out the starting point for the phones was off indicating more than a settings issue. Hopefully this isn't going to be an issue, but given historical events I'm not overly optimistic!

This is a problem which can be observed on most devices with AMOLED. There is always potential for different units having different white points, color temperature or uneven whites with pink or green tint due to the way the display is manufactured. That's why I cross my fingers hoping for a good display every time I buy a device with AMOLED. My Oneplus 3T came with a perfect display although there are many instances of people reporting yellow or pink tint on the display.
Though we can experiment with the RGB settings to balance the white point, I think it would somewhat change the overall calibration of the panel and might lead to inaccurate color representation.
