Installation Instructions:

First Nandroid your current ROM to your external sd card.

1. Download Hurricane V8.0 to your internal or preferably external sd. Check and Confirm MD5...
2. Download odin 3.07 to your PC/Laptop
3. Make sure you have samsung note2 drivers installed.
4. Download MJ5 bootloader.zip to your PC/Laptop, and extract it.
5. Boot into download mode and to PC and Open Odin as Administrstor.
- Click the Bootloader button, browse the downloaded MJ5 bootloader and select it.
- Click the "Start" button and wait for the phone to reboot.
- Follow the screenshot below:

6. Reboot into download mode again and make sure you see the entry "KNOX WARANTY VOID" to make sure that you are on the new bootloader.
7. Reboot into recovery
If you don't want to use note3 app package, then
8. Flash Hurricane V8.0 with full wipe. (if Aroma gets stuck, wipe cache and dalvik first to clear resources from /cache)
9. Reboot.
10. Setup the phone and Enjoy
If you want to flash note3 app package v4.0, then
8. Flash Hurricane V8.0 with full wipe. (if Aroma gets stuck, wipe cache and dalvik first to clear resources from /cache)
9. Don't reboot, wipe cache and dalvik,

6. Setup the phone.
7. Optional: Flash Hurricane Note3 App Package V3.0 if you want to enjoy note3 features. And reboot.
8. Go to Settings/Application Manager and clear cache and data of "Touchwiz home"
9. Optional: Flash 4-way reboot menu.
10. Reboot and Enjoy.
In case you want to enjoy note2 ROM before flashing Note3 package, then nandroid that before you start flashing Note3 pacakge v3.0

Hurricane v5.0 Changelog [23/10/13]:

- Fully Pre-rooted; no need to flash supersu anymore; I hope

New ROM Name: Hurricane

- Some users like the ROM full, some others like it lite;
Here, giving you the freedom to select/build/cook your meal the way you like.

- Package size is ~ 1.2 GB. But that doesn't mean system partition will be full.
If you go bloatware-free (lite), you save > 312MB from your system partition.

- I could debloat more, but that might affect the stability/features of the ROM.

Installation Instructions (Versions 7 - 8 - 9.x - 10 - 11):

First Nandroid your current ROM to your external sd card.

1. Download Hurricane ROM to your internal or preferably external sd. Check and Confirm MD5...
2. Download odin 3.07 to your PC/Laptop
3. Make sure you have samsung note2 drivers installed.
4. Download MJ5 bootloader.zip to your PC/Laptop, and extract it.
5. (if you are on MJ5 bootloader or newer, skip no.5) Boot into download mode and to PC and Open Odin as Administrstor.
- Click the Bootloader button, browse the downloaded MJ5 bootloader and select it.
- Click the "Start" button and wait for the phone to reboot.
- Follow the screenshot below:

6. Reboot into download mode again and make sure you see the entry "KNOX WARANTY VOID" to make sure that you are on the new bootloader.
7. Reboot into recovery
If you don't want to use note3 app package, then
8. Flash Hurricane V8.0 with full wipe. (if Aroma gets stuck, wipe cache and dalvik first to clear resources from /cache)
9. Reboot.
10. Setup the phone and Enjoy
If you want to flash note3 app package v4.0, then
8. Flash Hurricane V8.0 with full wipe. (if Aroma gets stuck, wipe cache and dalvik first to clear resources from /cache)
9. Don't reboot, wipe cache and dalvik,
10. Flash Note3 App package v4.0
11. Don't reboot, wipe cache and dalvik.
12. Reboot and setup the phone
ENJOY

4) Download SuperSu v1.65
4) Check MD5 and make sure it is matching...
5) Place it in internal/external SD

10) Reboot
11) Setup your phone

Some tips to save battery life (Thanks wanam):

1) Disable auto sync for accounts if you don't need them. Syncing kills!!
2) Disable GPS and enable it only when you want to use it.
3) Disable auto backup for Gmail account.
4) Set brightness level to automatic.
5) Disable motion if you don't use it from developer options in settings.
6) Check your apps settings and disable useless background sync
7) Use autoStart app or Startup manager to disable un-needed app from automatic startup on boot. It will also make the startup time faster.
8) If you are facing battery juicing, use better battery stats app to find out what application preventing your phone from getting to deep sleep and find out the different types of wake locks.
9) Remove apps you don't use.
10) Enable "Power Saving Mode" from Settings
11) Use "Deep Sleep Batter Saver pro" app from the play store and set the mode to "aggressive", or use "Battery Doctor" app to extend battery life

- Message: Enable folder view (Disabled to avoid Messaging FC)
This will allow you to switch between conversation view to folder view in stock messaging app

- Message: Enable font features
This will enable controlling font features such as size of stock messaging app

- Message: Enable scheduled message
This will enable scheduled message in stock sms application

- Misc: Disable phone number formatting
This will disable phone number formatting. Advised...

- Misc: Phonebook digit matching
This will enable dialer phonebook digits matching letters during search for a contact

- Misc: Launcher Rotation
This will enable launcher page rotation. Stock FW needed, and modded SecLauncher2.apk

- WEB: Web exit option to Stock Browser
This will add exit option to stock brower

- WiFi: Wifi client 10 for MobAP
This will enable 10 devices to connect to your hotspot

- Misc: MultiWindow addOn App
If you have multiwindow app installed, this will enable your settings of which apps enabled in for multi window to be saved.

- Calendar: Enable Calender export
This will enable you to import calendar data from sd card.

- Email: Email White Background
This will convert Email stock application background to white for better reading...

- Clock: Clock enable Auto on off menu
This will enable auto power on/off menu for clock app. Use it if you need it only.

- Misc: Voice call waitingtone 60
I haven't yet tested that

- FM Radio: FM local tunning
This will enable FM radio local tunning

- FM Radio: FM Record volume11
This will enable FM radio recording; not tested yet.

- Misc: National Roaming Icon enable
This will enable roaming icon "R" to be displayed when roaming

- WEB: Request Web desktop site by default
This will force the stock browser to request for desktop view by default

How does it work?
If you are on Hurricane ROM, then:
1. The tool will auto backup your current /system/csc/others.xml to /system/others.xml
2. The tool will delete the current /system/csc/others.xml
3. The tool will load the basic features only instead [(Hurricane basic others.xml) needed to trigger your changes)].
4. Then you can enter the main page where you can choose:

- Customize CSC Features: This will let you choose only the features you want and write them into others.xml (activate them)
- Skip CSC Features

5. If you wish to restore your backed up others.xml, just use root explorer to copy /system/others.xml to /system/csc/ and set permission 644.
6. The tool is self explanatory, and will guide you through the process.


How to flash:
1. Nandroid first, just in case.
2. Download and flash the tool, make sure of MD5 before flashing...
3. Follow the tool guide within Aroma.
4. Reboot.


Notes:
1. The disclaimer in first post of my OP applies here too.
2. Some of the features require modded apks as explained the detailed section above.
3. This is only v1.0. I will enhance the backup / restore procedure later.

Dr.Ketan's Mods Compatibility

Here is the sequence you needs to follow to get Dr.Ketan's Mods on top of Hurricane.
- Flash Hurricane V3.0
- Flash Dr.Ketan's V2 update from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46488607&postcount=5
This also includes latest GApp as well you will have choice to get Mods. Again this step is optional, you can read the link for detailed features and decide whether you need it or not.
- Flash Dr.Ketan's Note app package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46222831&postcount=4.
Again make clear this is also optional and decide after looking there which features it offers.

Hurricane Note3 App Package V2.0 Changelog and Features:

Note: Should be compatible with Dr.Ketan's ROM. And this Package is exclusive to Hurricane and Dr.Ketan ROM users only.

Huge Thanks to the great DN3 Team for permission to port and modify from their files. :good:

1. Fixed force close in Pen detachment options.
2. Removed duplicate settings of Pen detachment options. Replaced with Pen attach/detach sound options.
3. Removed duplicate settings of Air View.
4. Direct pen input is activated by default.

6. Writing Buddy working...
7. One Hand operation (use for all screens) ... working...
8. Fixed emoji display error in Samsung Note3 keyboard.
9. Flashable zip provided separately for those who are facing issues with Pen Thickness. (Thickness reduced from 5 to 2 and Recognizer delay increased from 500 Milliseconds to 1000 milliseconds for those who are slow pen typers). This zip is only applicable for Note3 keyboard. If you change the keyboard, It will be thick again.

Installation instructions: Don't tell me I didn't tell you

1. Nandroid your current ROM first, then Full wipe is a must even if you have note3 app package v1.0 installed
2. Flash Hurricane V5.0 with full wipe from Aroma option;
3. Flash Email - Spen fix.
4. Reboot.
5. Setup the phone in basic.
6. Clear Cache and Data of Email and Exchange from Settings / Application Manager to avoid FC.
7. Reboot to recovery .
8. Flash Hurricane Note3 App Package V2.0
9. Reboot.
10. Clear TWHOME data from Settings / Application Manager.

5. Setup your device, apps, contacts, etc... (anything that you need for daily use)
6. Nandroid this setup just in case you want to revert back to it without Note3 features.
7. Flash Hurricane Note3 App Package after you make sure MD5 is correct.
8- Reboot and Enjoy....

Notes:

1. In case you face issues with Email app, I am only going to say this once, just please go to Settings/Apps Manager/ Delete Exchange & Email cache and data.
2. Battery Life with Note3 Package is only a little bit affected, try to freeze StrokeSearch.apk from Titanium Backup if you get indexService battery juicing... Or as Dr.Ketan correctly said: "Indexservice draining battery is highly suggestive of some files corrupted on your sdcard(int/ext) you should backup data to PC then should format both and then restore data.
or look to error log and find corrupted file."
3. Removed Note3 Launcher from the package to avoid some possible expected FCs. With Note2 Launcher present in the package, you cannot install Note3 Accuweather. Just use other widgets (note2, S4 or Android Weather from the Play Store)

Hurricane sipdb/VODB De/Bloater TOOL.

The tool will allow you to bloat and debloat sipdb languages and Voice VODB languages as per your choice for the ROM WITHOUT note3 mod.

Example: If you keep only the language you use, you can save almost ~ 300 MB of system partition space.

If you choose later to install more languages; you can flash the tool any time to bloat again and keep/remove the languages you need.
