I can't activate 3.0 usb

I have samsung s5 sm-g900v with 3.0 usb cable, but when i connect it in the pc, i can't select 3.0 option on the menu,
is there any solution??
Btw i use lollipop 5.0 official

stupid question, but you're using the USB 3.0 cable, and a USB 3.0 port on your computer, correct?
