I can't do it ...

That would definitely keep me with Samsung.

The most interesting statement in that article: "...with only 10 percent of about 500,000 sending the fire prone devices back."
Exactly, so that's what? 50,000 turned in? Leaving 450,000 or so Note 7s out in the world. And they still arent exploding left and right leveling cities like people said they would.

Either way, I love love LOVE this phone, but for the sake of moving on, I'm willing to move forward, but it better be worth the effort for me.

Are those numbers correct? How would they know? Didn't they sell a few million of the Note 7?

I'm confused lol, but yeah, let's hope they do give a discount, I'd love that.

Op, because I can't find ANY other device like the N7, I bought the ZTE Axon 7. Why? Because if I'm going to compromise, which every other device out there is IMHO, I may as well do it for $400 and not $900!

Actually this device is pretty good (in some cases better, it's definitely faster) and I have for the most part stopped feeling bad about the note7. It will do until I find something else I feel isn't a compromise, which isn't the case currently.

BTW After using this for a week it's hard to see how device prices can stay up in the $900s over time.

Thanks man, I've looked into the Axon 7, looms too much like a HTC to me, but i have been keeping an eye on the Xiomi Mi Note 2, which drops tomorrow and is a clear attempt to loom and act like a Note 7, but still it leaves me with the non Samsung problems such as Samsung Pay and Gear VR support. So regardless, looks like an S7 for me or i hold onto the Note 7.

Somewhere Else
I know its hard... I've had to give back 5 of them... Using the S7E at the moment and its not bad.
No pen, but the internals are similar.. I still keep waterproofing, wireless charging and Samsung Pay so i'm win for now.

As long as your aren't traveling, not concerned with your and others safety, dont need system updates and will never get a replacement..... its a keeper! lol

BB is finally up to speed BTW lol

The stylus is the biggest issue in my opinion, there just isn't another phone like it.
The note series is on another level vs the competition.
There is literally no other replacement that has this feature and it blows my mind in a land of me toos no one outside of LG has attempted it and LG did it with specs that were literally outdated when it was released.

I agree with most everything you said.

Only thing I disagree with is that the S7 or S7 Edge isn't a downgrade on paper. I see it as a huge downgrade on paper, and an even bigger one in real life, when you compare small non-paper details such as the amount of curve on the edge, the ugly shape of the corners, the USB 2.1 (ok, that's on paper, but it sucks LOL), etc.

Sadly, there truly isn't another phone out there that's even REMOTELY comparable. The LG V20 looked like a possible option, until people started reporting BootLoop 2.0 on it, and even if that wasn't an issue (could swap it at a dealer, potentially, if that happened), the brittle and fragile camera glass IS a HUGE issue. The idea of having a great dual camera on my phone, only to have it become unusable because there is a giant fracture in the glass. The possibility of glass shards cutting me or embedding in my hand isn't exactly appealing either. The Pixel XL 128GB looked like a great option... until Google apparently only made 25 of them and sold them all in the USA, making it impossible to get one in Canada for 1.5 to 2 months (according to the interwebs, so probably 3-4 months in reality).

Same boat as most of you.

Ive had a new note every year since the note 2 and this is the best one yet.

Returned my 1st note for a refund then scoured the net looking to replace it with some thing else. Came to an easy decision that there is nothing else which compares to it for many reasons so managed to get my hands on a V2 version and bought it. And a big thanks to the very generous person who sold it to me for a very low price who also happens to be a member here.

Best decision i ever made.
