My Pixel 3a arrived yesterday from the Google store and I have to say... it is the best phone I have owned to date. I have owned a lot of flagship phones in the past. In the last couple of years, I have been sticking with cheap phones since I don't have a lot of demands. I just came off a Moto x4 (which I was relatively happy with). The difference is night and day. This 3a is snappy, fun, and very efficient with the battery. The phone line transfer was a breeze too. I didn't need a SIM card. I just used the FI eSIM activation and chose my line and it made the switch! The cloud app restore was lightning fast too. I would give this whole product / process a 10 out of 10.

I went from the original pixel to this. I'm not sure how these phones could be considered budget. I also have a note 8 and both pixels run smoother than my samsung device.

Maybe it's the price?

I came from Samsung (S7 Snapdragon) to #teampixel myself; in fact, I'm now downloading the current beta of Q. Just to see if it was possible, I tried my current SIM (the one from the same S7) in my 3a and I expected it to not fit, as it was supposedly a micro-SIM. Shame on me - it fit, and the 3a picked it up (therefore, $1.00USD I don't have to spend and a trip I don't have to make. (No - I did nothing to the SIM except move it.) So far, it's quicker than the S7 every which way (and that is despite that the S7 was running Oreo, and the Pixel was Pie-faced. If Q is merely as fast as Pie, I can recommend the 3a OR 3a XL to any S7 owner with no hesitation whatever, and for reasons having nothing to do with the camera. (After all, I didn't join #teampixel myself due to the camera, either.) #teampixel #whatcamera?

Why? The Pixel is rootable - and TWRP-able (the only reason I have not done either is due to not having the right sort of cable ends (if I had even a standard USB-to-USB transfer cable, I'd have done that by now).
