I hate my Samsung S5 Sport!

Search This thread
This has become my worst phone purchase... development is pretty much dead, Samsung Knox is a pain (no selinux permissive allowed), stock TouchWiz rom is bloated. It's otherwise a decent phone with a lot of bells and whistles. and good build quality.

The G860P is quite neglected... no much can be done with the phone. Whatever roms we have are unstable, and there are no custom kernels.

I'm thinking of getting an S8 but those are expensive and I just now hate Samsung.

What I want in a phone... Snapdragon 835, 8gb ram, minimum 64 GB internal storage, 5" 1080p ips screen, a headphone jack, microSD card slot, fm radio, stereo front facing speakers, water resistance, large heat pipe, and good developer support.

I had the sport a few yrs back. Went to Verizon and got a Note 4.. Left Verizon came back to Sprint had a S7 Edge, got rid of it because root was ok, but made the phone to slow.. Went a bought a regular S5 came with MM, downgraded to LL have MOAR 7.1 and very happy.. The newer phones are becoming a pain, because 1) the cost do dam much 2) US phone lock bootloader and make it harder to root.. This phone works just fine.. Ya I wish there was some custom kernel but the ones I have found the links are dead.. But over all this phone will be the last I purchase for a long time.. It never gets hot, I have 2 spare batteries, only have maybe 1-2 drop calls a day, and never have my data throttled back, and I use a awful lot of data.

I would recommend the one plus but it doesn't work for sprint. Have you looked into Pixel? it doesn't have the headphone jack and no qi. I know people who have the S8 and they like it. Plus from what I have saw in the past you can root and rom the device. I think if you wait for the s9 to come out, the s8 will go down in price real quick.

The Pixel and the 1+ 5T are instantly disqualified for lack of a microSD card slot.
The Razer Phone seems to be my best option.

The so called root for the S7 isn't really root since the bootloader is locked.
