I hate the Touchwiz

this is my first experience with tw, but i personally think its awesome compared to sense! besides, if you dont like the overlay, use a different launcher

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the sense 3/4 lockscreen onto the galaxy s3? I would love the background animation weather thing that pops up on the htc during lockscreen. Where the map starts to move through the clouds and such then the sun poping up.

Touchwiz adds a few nice features that I use:

Switches in the notification area
Dialer with T9 support
Smart alarm is something I actually like. Plus the alarm widget is nifty.

I use GoLauncher with an ICS theme to get the look I want, but touchwiz is not intrusive at all.

My sgs3 its my first Sammy phone, coming from,a droid x,x2 tw isn't bad,I like the stock launcher for now, I was use to using adw-ex launcher.

OP why didn't you get the Nexus? No one forced you to get the S3. This why Samsung offers so many models....choices.

I have the GN also. Was just stating my opinion and venting. I personally like the vanilla android in all phones. But I also like missionary

So install apex/nova launcher and get that vanilla ics feeling

I'm. Surprised you don't know this.
For a more clean/ aosop feel go with apex. I personally LOVE go launcher ex.

Just go to market search launcher

Themes a few good ones people really like: apex, nova , go launcher, ???

PS.....no root needed!

I'm aware of custom launchers. They are not AOSP and I've always felt that they put a drag on the processor/battery. It may just be me.

I think all OEMs should give options. Vanilla or their overlay. I have an S3 but I really like Sense 4.0 from HTC. While the HOX was nice...It just was not for me over all.

But that option may be hard for OEMs to do.

that is what I'm talking about, why not add another step in the setup to choose between aosp or their crappy overlay?

I'm running 072212 CM 10 build and while I enjoy JB, I actually do miss TW a bit. The smart alarm was very nice. The camera features were also a high point. I'd love to see a JB build with some TW pulled in but I'm suspecting it's difficult to code up.

I dont much like the launcher either. But thats whats great about this i dont have to use it!
