It can't be helped. With higher versions of Android, the full backup option has ended. You can back up installed apps and various settings. Use Google backup, or use various apps with backup functionality. The current recovery backup is incomplete and can only revert to an identical system and carries the risk of a failed recovery.

AFAIK it can be backed up using something like the following even if I did not try to restore and I am not sure if that's all needed:
Bash:
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/fsg of=/sdcard/fsg.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst1 of=/sdcard/modemst1.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/modemst2 of=/sdcard/modemst2.img bs=4096
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist of=/sdcard/persist.img bs=4096

The problem is that no one can give you their backup because that includes the IMEI that is unique per phone.

I don't know if there are free tools to restore the IMEI number.

The main problem is that you cannot overwrite, edit, or otherwise modify system files. Even with root privileges. Recovery then by normal means is unknown. However, some specialized applications can handle backup and restore.
