I need some help rooting my transformers

Ok sorry for posting up another thread on rooting, there are just too many methods and i don't want to brick my pad. I just want to be able to use netflix, so no flashing for me. Am happy with the stock 3.2. Also if i root do i lose any data!? Or this just happens after flashing!? Letssay i were to flash what are the steps to back up my data!? Thanks for taking ur time and looking atmy thread, sorry again for creating another rooting thread.
