Oh Brother :(

Finally jumped into installing my Whitestone dome glass.
Totally botched :crying:
Product probably fine. I was just all thumbs.
Read instructions, checked youtube, flat table. The works.
There are two small dots on the bottom of the screen protector.
They look like they´re meant to be there.
The glue simply wouldn't spread to that area.
Tried with the other bottle of glue. Didn´t work. Got glue everywhere else.
Good thing it´s a smartphone because i feel kinda dum. :p
Ended up binning the whole mess (except the phone).
Invented a couple of new 4 letter words in the process :(

Anyone noticed those two dots?

Saddest possible regards.
The clueless screwup

There are 2 dots on the bottom of the Dome and 2 at the top. They are part of the Dome. They should be basically invisible except at certain angles.

Double whammy

Major Bummer :crying:

I must have gotten glue in the earpiece.
The sound is muted to just above hearing threshold.
Tried flushing it out with Isopropanol
Probably trying demineralized water next.
Can´t see anything wrong with an 10X PCB loupe.
Any and all suggestions welcome

Regards

Get in contact with Whitestone via their website, or the site you purchased from - they're very good at providing rather substantial discounts if you've had a bad experience.

I got given a couple of 99% off codes (which surprisingly worked for multiple items in one purchase - I didn't go nuts, I only bought two at that discount).

The 2 dots are necessary and are what help the adhesive spread correctly... Sounds like either your surface wasn't level and some ran off to some other side or you didn't get the full amount of adhesive out. I find that you sometimes have to tap the bottle to get it all out as air bubbles inside plug it up sometimes.

If you bought this from Amazon just contact customer service and they will send you a replacement Amazon is pretty good about Replacements though sometimes you might have to fib a little ;)

This is the one warning that they are missing... They need to warn to protect the earpiece and microphones. It's random at best but for the few it's a disaster.
