Hi I was recently given a neuesd Galaxy Tab P1000 for my Birthday, and I wondering what the average battery time on this thing is on say the current 2.3.6 Gingerbread Stock ROM. I guess I can pick it up and put it down for around ~6h. That's checking Facebook, the odd Website and eMails. Watching a ~2h Movie off navi-x (XBMC Plugin) drained the Battery by 75% from full. Granted it was the unoptimized Frodo release. That could've had something to with it. I'm not sure whats exactly reasonable though.

But, what I'd like to know is Do Samsung (Or indeed anyone else for that matter!), even still make Batteries for this Device? I have also since acquired a replacement Battery off of Fleabay, but that was also manufactured back in 2010. So I don't even know if its worth bothering with. If this thing has lost something like nearly 40% of its capacity over that time.

So would anyone here have a clue as to where I could get as fresh a Battery for the P1000 Galaxy Tab as I can. the newer the better?

To be honest, with WiFi and 3G usage, not much device can stay long. It's ok for the tab with 6h on WiFi, I mean your battery is completely fine.
Still want to change? If you are in UK then this might help: ebay.co.uk/itm/251063439407?

The only problem I see with that is that, that is very likely an original Samsung Battery (Nothing wrong with that BTW!), probably made in ca ~2010. Which is a problem when unused / improperly stored Li-ION Batteries reportedly loose up to 20% of there overall charging capacity per annum. 2013 - 2010 = 3 Years = -60% now...

I know your "millage may vary" But, I'm looking for a Battery that was recently made 2012 or latter. I could be wrong but, I'd guess those Batteries from 2010 just won't cut it anymore.

For 40% charged new battery (which is normally done by manufactures) then the decay rate is 4-6% then shouldnt be a problem. Furthermore, you can ask the sellers about the year. The link I've posted is where I ordered mine about a month ago and feel no problem with it :D. Dont be so obsess about the decay rate.
