How to install:

1. Remove any lag fixes you have installed.
2. Use Odin3 One-Click to flash back to JF6 (if you're already on JF6 you should be able to skip this step, but it may not be as clean).
3. Put the ClockworkMod Recovery zip on your internal SD and rename it update.zip.
4. Put JH7_OTA.zip on your internal SD.
5. Boot into stock recovery and select reinstall packages a couple times until it takes you to ClockworkMod Recovery.
6. Select install zip from sdcard and then select JH7_OTA.zip.

After a while it should boot and you should have a clean JH7 OTA firmware installed. You can now root, install a lag fix, etc.

I flashed to stock this morning then applied this through clockwork..

I am not truly happy with the update if this is the official GPS fix - took 130 seconds for the first lock.. Still is taking upwards of 20 seconds to get a location on me in Google maps

Am I missing something? Are their any files that need to be removed through root explorer that allow the download of the OTA update? I think there is something more than just using odin to flash the stock rom - there has to be something else in the root files not allowing us to communicate to the at&t servers..

Is it possible to format the internal sd card completely and push the files from a COMPLETELY stock phone over?

I lost all my apps and data when I flashed this. I did not check the options to wipe when I started the Clockwork update but lost them anyway.

Well this doesn't seem to be helping at all.

Fresh flash via one-click. Followed the instructions posted above and booted fine.
About phone shows that i'm on JH7. Downloaded GPS Test and ran it.

NOTHING....i'm standing by a window right now and no lock what so ever. I was out in my front yard 10 mintues ago and nothing.

Sounds like I need to do it over, but I might need to visit an ATT store for a new phone.

This is really amazing work man, we all appreciate here. I just wanted to ask one big favor. If someone could put up the QR for this that would be awesome. I'm a total noob and am not comfortable flasing this on my own. Thanks again

Here you go.

A side note:
If you want to build your own QR codes out of links you see here and you are using Firefox perform the following steps:

  1. Click Bookmarks and select Organize Bookmarks... (or press Crtl+Shift+B).
  2. Click Organize then select New Bookmark...
  3. Rename the new bookmark QR in the Name box.
  4. Under Location past in the following url: http://chart.apis.google.com/chart?cht=qr&chs=200x200&chl=%s
  5. In the Keyword box type in qr.
  6. Use a description if you need to.
  7. Click Add to save.
To use the new bookmark just point to a link you need a QR Code for and perform the following steps:

  1. Right click a link and select Copy Link Location.
  2. On the address bar type qr followed by a space then paste the link location after the space.
  3. Hit the return key
  4. Firefox will open a new tab with you newly created QR Code displayed. You can then save it, copy it or just scan it with the barcode scanner.

Hope this is of some assitance

Hey guys, I see some of you are bricking or not being able to update.

You can use this to flash to I897UCJH7 OTA.
And this earned you a donation this morning after 8 download and attempts to update, hitting odin, restoring rommanger backups etc your image finally brought the goodness.

Anyone who uses this image, how valuable is your time? Dont you think the person who provided it could use a good cold beverage for making your day better? Donate! :)

So DG, were you able to see a difference between this JH7 and the previous leaked version? I mean are the GPS files/drivers different or its just the same version?

ok, so I was one of the people who had installed the update, got to 100% and after a reboot got a popup stating the update failed (which would show up after every reboot). Before the update my phone was rooted with sideloading and non-market apps enabled, and bloatware removed.

I downloaded the ROM linked in here and updated via ROM Manager. It installed without a hitch. After the update, all my apps were gone, so I reinstalled them all through AppBrain sync. I tried (foolishly I suppose) to use titanium backup and ROM Manager immediately, both requested SU privileges, and both failed to get them, even though the SU app showed them as being successful. I then went and ran busybox installer, it did its thing and I was able to run titanium backup and remove the att bloatware infesting my phone once again.

I did check my GPS (using GPS Test), and I now get locks quickly and the signal doesn't jump around like a crazy person, but I have had a couple of unexpected reboots, and some of the ATT crapware came back afterwards, so I'm going to try deleting it again.

I also can't install non-market apps again, so JuiceDefender failed when it tried to install the AOSP helper. I will try and reenable them when I get home.

After all this, does anyone have any suggestions on things I should do next?I just want to make sure I cover all my bases.

Oh yeah, and after the first (failed success) update I was able to get into recovery, whereas before I was not (had to use adb recovery before).

You need to install busybox from market as it is not included.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Hrmm. Titanium installed 1.16 for me and its still not working even after a restart.

Just installed newest version to get this going. CP command seems to work now. Think titanium just put bare minimum version on there for it to function.

I got this update to install fine, but my GPS still throws me around everywhere. Do I just have a bad unit? It locks but it cannot keep my position. I went outside with 2 guys out here at work. One had an iPhone 3gs, one has a HTC Evo. Their GPS systems locked on and stayed put before mine would even lock on. Then mine started throwing me around like crazy. 10 feet west, then 30 feet east, then into another building 100 feet away, then slowly back to me.

This happened to me at first, then I went ahead and pulled the battery, SIM, and SD card.

After that it was nice and steady on the GPS...

Hey guys, I see some of you are bricking or not being able to update.

You can use this to flash to I897UCJH7 OTA.

Use Clockwork recovery to flash it...

Cognition is currently being rebuilt on top of this, deodexed and all that fun stuff.

This flashes the system folder, kernel, and modem.

Let me know how the GPS works for you guys!! I have gotten it to lock in my basement!!
Thank You So Much!
