Hey gang. Running LOS 14.1 on the S4 Mini. In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that I lose mobile data (plenty of signal bars, but it'll show H+ or 3G with a little x underneath) for no apparent reason. A reboot fixes it temporarily but it always recurs.

This has survived a wipe of Davlik / Cache / System / Data and reinstall of LOS 14.1 w/ Gapps Nano.

Suggestions?

Are you using 'System Profiles'? Be sure that 'Network Card Type' is set to 'LTE' or 'Leave Unchanged', there, as well as in your 'Data Usage' settings. Or, switch off profiles.

Maybe that's not your problem but it's the only thing that immediately jumps out to me reading here, I don't see why else your connection settings should auto revert to the defaults.

Really hard to tell because suddenly it's acting okay; but no, not exactly the same. What will be happening is one minute the phone is acting fine; the next you realize there's no data. You might still have four bars of signal, and the "H+" or "3G" or whatever, but there is a little X in the corner of the bars implying no data. Voice calls and SMS still work, but there's no data. This condition survives a reboot, and usually all the way home. Once on our wifi, then it works okay and if I turn the phone wifi off, then it will get back on the data network fine. I have yet to pin down a specific condition that causes the mobile data to drop.

OK, follow-up... still happening occasionally. Very annoying. Today I managed to fix it by turning Mobile Data off, then on again. No idea why it worked this time and not others, but it's driving us towards a new phone. Well, new/used. Looking at Galaxy S6s on eBay right now. :p

Per IronRoo's earlier post, I tried the "Search for Networks" but it said "Already Registered on Network;" and it's true, the icon showed three bars of H+, but with the little X in the corner. I also double-checked the "Access Point Names" submenu, but "T-Mobile US LTE" was (correctly) selected, so that's not it either. :dunno:
