It's been said so many times: READ at least a few pages back before jumping in and complaining about not being able to download anything. This time it would only have been ONE page to read/check back ...

Everything changes but everything remains the same in this thread... hahaha. :(

This time it wasn't he's fault, he couldn't download from androidfilehost.com, and the rom was uploaded only there, so he couldn't do anything else than ask for a solution.

Huh

The original link on the previous page and the one given here earlier today are exactly the same, so no idea what you mean.

Yes, I know that, I mean that both links are from the same server (androidfilehost.com) and the user that had troubles can't download from that page (it gives him an error), so he needs a link from another server (mega, zippyshare, basketbuild...)

No - everybody can download from there, but he tried to download from the opening post. THAT doesn't work and it's always why people moan about not being able to download ;)

It's not about the thread, it's about people's ideas of how the world works. People change, though it takes a lot of time - we need to experience a lot before we come up with an idea to change our likes, wishes and the way we think.
So, don't complain about people being ignorant to good things you've made few pages before :) Those who have it to use the results of your contributuion will use it.

And the main thing of my post, a question: does the latest build work well? I ask this because 5.4.3 had a lot of issues for me.

Working fine here

Thank you for the reply!
Decided to try it out by myself, looks fine also.

UPD wow! It's been only a few mins (<10) since I've updated, made just 1 short call for (<1m) and my battery went down by 10%!! Wow! Hope it's just some interface bug!

Hello everyone,

I have last RR installed (5.5.4) and I use it since version 5.4.9. The original stock is LL 5.0.1.
After a few days I've started using RR, it started to appear a very annoying problem, related to frequent "sudden / random shutdown (NO REBOOT)" on the phone. It turns off suddenly (like I should have removed battery in that moment), in a seemingly random way, during simple operations; it can happen while I take a picture (or while the phone is saving the picture itself after I shot it), while answering (or I am going to answer) an incoming call, or while replying to a Whatsapp message . So there is NOT a definite pattern.

Some clues are:

- These sudden shutdowns occur in the vast majority of cases when the battery percentage is below 50%.

- I've noticed that if I use third-party apps (like "Camera FV-5") is much less likely to present the problem while taking pictures. In any case, I flashed the camera workaround that I've found in this thread, but without results.

- The problem may be absent for days, or it can occur many times in the same day

- The problem happens quite always ONLY if the phone is powered from the battery only. To workaround this, after the random shutdown I manually start the phone and plug in the charging cable as soon as the boot animation appears. In this way the problem disappears as long as the phone is charging.

- Otherwise, if after the random shutdown I manually start the phone without plugging the charging cable, in most cases this will switch off again shortly after inserting the SIM PIN, and the registration on the network (cellular / wireless / both). Moreover, in these cases I observe a massive decrease in the percentage of charge of the battery from a shutdown to the next.

- I suspect that this problem has started after I've installed Alucard Kernel (last version for my i9505), and used a configuration file found somewhere in this thread. Maybe it produced some problem with the CPU voltage, I don't know, I am not particularly expert, and I don't know how toto revert to standard configuration/kernel (if needed).

Unfortunately I've not found a solution so far.

If any of you could help me I would be very grateful. I love this ROM, but this problem is really serious, because the phone has become unreliable.

Thanks in advance.

Something like that happened to me some time ago, it can be due to a bad battery calibration (for example: phone shows 30% of battery but in reality there is only 1% left), install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration charge phone completely, for example this night, and when you wake up (make sure it's on 100% and don't unplug the phone) open the app and press "battery calibration" button, then unplug and see if problem persist

Yea, in deep sleep everything is fine, really battery saving, but as soon as the screen goes on it sucks the battery dry faster than any other ROM i know. Dont know why though.

@alioth76
Did you just upgrade each version without wiping from (RR5.4.9)5.0.1 to (RR5.5.4)5.1.1 or did you do a full wipe(at least before the last upgrade?)
Sometimes there are some deep changes in the code that can mess with the system if you dont install clean.

Thank you @fanfzero, it's a good idea.
I've just downloaded the app you suggested me, tonight I will try a battery calibration.
I hope this is the right solution for my problem !

Hi @Backe888, I've first installed 5.4.9 on a full wiped stock, then every time I install the new RR version, I do a cache wipe/dalvik wipe.
Thanks

Restore the settings to default on S tweaks (the last tab) and the random reboots will be gone

@demeus, @KaszasM
When I've installed Alucard Kernel (probably in 5.5.1), I've used app "Synapse" to access and modify voltage settings.
Now If I try to open "Synapse", it shows "NO UCI support detected" and no action is allowed.
Nonoetheless, I don't find "S Tweaks" app anymore.

I also have "Pimp my Rom" app, but if I try to access "Voltage Control" it says "Sorry, your current kernel does not support voltage control".

From "Settings" menu, I read that my kernel version now is:
3.4.107-cyanogenmod-gb414292

Maybe everytime I install new RR version, it overwrites any existing kernel with CM one ?
If this is case, is it still a good idea try to modify voltage settings or is it a wrong move ?

Thats what i mean. There are so many changes between 5.4.9 and 5.5.4 that you really should do a full wipe(data + system) before flashing the latest.
I know, its some work, but with titanium backup for your apps you should have everything up and running in no time, and stable.
