What gapps did you download. The ones from the first post of the Dev thread?
i downloaded from the links in the first post and i cannot download from market.
You could try the following gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19823105&postcount=2227
I know this fixes the Calendar sync.
If not try the newest update from zFr3eak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19844792&postcount=2420
and then one of the gapps mentioned.
Let me know how you get on.
Turns out the issue is with all Gapps, All gapps close after 1 second and freeze the screen...

Hmm i'm going to try the newest update from zFr3eak, but there is Alpha 1 added 0 days ago (today?) and Alpha 2 added 3 days ago... which one is latest? lol

Hmm i don't know if this is the problem with the rom but i can't download those gapps, its endlessly downloading it on my phone while in my PC it downloaded in 10 seconds, same wi-fi btw, i can't transfer this from my PC to my phone since i can't get my phone to connect to my PC
This ROM is working great so far except I have no data without wifi. That is the only deal breaker for me so far!
Also camera doesnt work, gallery FC, accelerometer doesnt work but all of that is known bugs I think.

Put your phone in recovery, there's an option to mount sd cardi hope so! lol

Beta 1 is unusable... Alpha 3 is far better. For some reason Beta 1 comes with Chinese input method which is force closing every second, reverting back to alpha 3, don't use Beta 1 by zFr3eak

To fix contact you need to flash gapps from the dev thread..

I tried the criminal one a few days ago. about to give another one of these new ones a try.
Question: Do the new builds still have the device name as "HTC Desire HD"?
CM and the stock rom are simply "Desire HD" and it screws with my market using odd names when I flash back to cm.
How can I change that easily? Use es explorer, mount /system as rw and then just edit build.prop? Or do I need to edit build.prop offline somehow?

You can edit the build.prop before flashing buy pulling the file out with 7zIP and the edit it
