Are there any kernels for ICS yet? I kind of had a thought that AOSP based kernels would work for this, considering it IS source.
With the latest beta I did a complete wipe and install. Much better battery life. Right now at 75% charge with 9 hours use. Stock LM kernel and Systune tweaks.

Google Maps install fails

Hi everyone,

i'm using lords latest ics beta since yesterday but i can't get Google Maps installed. I've tried to find it in the market, but there my device is not compatible.

I've got the APKs from Maps 6.0 and 5.2 and both fail the install if i choose them in the file explorer.

I've also tried to install these APKs with Android Commander in regular mode and as system app ... fails too.

And last but noch least, i've tried to install the APKs with a flashable zip in Recovery ... also not shown in the appdrawer and applist after flashing.

Any other solution available ... wiping and reflashing of the os is my last thought. ^^

Edit: Okay ... with Android Commander appears Maps in the internal applicationlist of Android Commander, but not in my device.

Edit 2: Changing dpi to 240 doesn't change anything ... only the optical effect.

Best regards

Are there any plans for a re-made version of Lord's latest build but with 240dpi and GApps included i've tried changing the dpi myself bugt i suck at stuff like this? The ROM is amazing by the way I just prefer 240dpi.

Hi,
To change DPI, using root explorer or something similiar open the build prop file as text, locate the below string (its a fair way down) and replace the 190 with 240, save on exit and then reboot phone.

ro.sf.lcd_density=190

/system for build.prop

I am comming from Android Revolution HD 6.1.5

should i flash wipe script first?

or do it manuely? wipe dalvik, cash in recovery?
I always do full wipe in recovery, to be sure I
Format system, data, cache then factory data then cache.
Once this is done I install ZIP.

Never have problems with any roms.

off course do a backup first ....(as once you format system) you have blank canvas :)

Yeah ... I'm too stupid ... just have to realize, that i have to use a nexus prime/ ics version of maps ... in time of your answer i used one from a nexus system dump, but your package is newer and installing only the extracted apk works without problems ... o_O

Hi, refer my post on page 43 #429
I never use scripts to wipe in preparation for ROM install.. To ensure a very clean start I always wipe it manually through recovery then install ROM zip, I run LordClockans ROM and it runs just fine :D:D:D:D:D

Not been able yo get it to work, however that was on a sense from, might work if using an ASOP from I suppose?

Just tried Cyanogen7.1 but boot manager complains when making the boot image, so for now seems that boot manager not compatible.

Just to clear this up, the missing apps in market ARE NOT due to the apps not supporting ICS. The facebook app in particular definitely supports ICS. You can see from this page:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.facebook.katana&hl=en

That while some people with the Nexus S are experiencing issues with contact sync etc the app itself downloads and runs perfectly fine.

Something else is preventing these apps from appearing.
It sucks not having twitter. Tweetcaster, which I use like foreverer doesn't update (Recovered from TB) and every other client I try to install can't login to Twitter. It seems like twitter can't recognize ICS or something

I'm having an issue where I set up a corp exchange account, and set the pin per the security requirements. Then I go to System Settings > Security and set automatically lock to "10 minutes after sleep" but the phone requires a pin immediately after I put it to sleep. I don't see the standard lock screen at all. If I wake it always just shows the pin entry screen.

anyone else have a corp exchange account set up?

I restored both Facebook and Twitter through TB, and both allows me to log in and receive tweets..
