FC Email Gmail

So, I'm not alone. I didn't experience any of this with 5.0 flashes. Something seems to be getting buggy with the more builds that are produced. If could be that are are so many requests for add ons, that it's actually causing more problems than it should.
Same thing is happening to me. FC on both Email and Gmail which almost makes them impossible to use....Tried everything mentioned in the last few posts about it.
Anyone can help?

Still on the latest build. Used Superwipe and reflashed again (third time). Battery is terrible (never had a battery issue before with any builds). Facebook still force closing. I changed email app to Hotmail app and no issues today (received about 6 emails with smooth tasking). Gmail forced closed twice.

Downloaded ProAmp trial and there is still static clicking when waking and putting to sleep.

Downloaded Text Dock Icon series from a referral in this thread and twice today the dock disappeared. Not sure if that is the app or new flash. I used it with 5.0 series, but not long enough to experience an issue

Since 2 days without flashing, my system seems to have found his right place. I don't notice any special drain of battery. In normal usage for me (2-3 calls, sms, reading XDA, playing 1 youtube video, shooting 2-3 photos, playing a lot in settings, reading twitts and G+, sync emails of 5 accounts and calendar, etc.) I still have 56% after 19 hours without charging.

The last time i've done a full wipe (before build 6.1), i've also formatted my SDCard because i'd experimented some weird issues with a few applications (gallery, twitter). Now all run perfect.

When you mention reformatting your SD card, what does that entail? Actually, I thought about copying all files on my PC and wiping the SD card and replacing files that I want or need. Problem is, I don't know what some files are for.

Can someone tell me the difference between the CFS and the BFS kernel?

Thanks
BFS is designed to focus on the main app installed, and process everything around the open app.

CFS is built around multi-tasking power. In general most people will prefer CFS because you notice less issues. If your a single app kind of person use BFS since your focused, but your scrolling, and swiping actions will be a little more laggy.

Can Inspire users use the BFS kernel?

Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk
yes they can

I save all folders and files on my pc then formatting the SDCard

In folders on my pc, i delete thumbnails folders (in DCIM or Pictures) if exist - I delete all files in cache folder of private folders (usually those with pictures or documents).

Once done, I copy on SDCard all my private/personal folders (DCIM, image, music, downloads, movies, media, documents) + Clockworkmod (where are stocked my nando backup) + Titanium (backups of my user applications) + Notifications (where i have some ringtones) and of course the zip to flash the new rom :D

If something is missing, no problem. I have the other folders stocked on my pc and can copy the one i need later.

Most of applications create the needed folders while installation or on first use.

Hope it will help

Looking for an HTC keyboard to use with this ROM. Are there any working keyboards? I've tried some of the older versions but they don't work with this ROM

I'll give it a go. There are a lot of files that I don't even know if I need or not. Example:
4ext
burstlymageCache
droidhen
Playerpro
Podcasts
Smarthome
Tencent
Videocalill

Did you try the one posted on devs thread - don't remember when exactly -? If i'm not wrong, it works but you could miss some settings.

4ext: look into the folder. If your backups of previous roms/systems are there, copy it on your sdcard

Podcasts: if you have downloaded files (podcasts), copy
Videocalill: if you have video files you will keep, copy
but you can also copy the files after re-installation of the applications

And as alread said: you will not have issues if folders are missing. Applications will recreate the needed folders while installing or on first use.

Don't delete the folders saved on PC and not copied on your SDCard. If something missing (documents or media files) you can copy them later at their right place on your SDCard.

Just downloaded the zip and upzipped it in SD card and pasted the apk in Systems/App

After selecting it as the default keyboard, I get an error and it closes. Same problem with the other two zips I found thus far.

Could be that HTC IME is no more compatible with our rom. I will try it later to see if I've the same issue.

**Edit**
I just realize that you've unzipped! You have to flash the zip!

Oh, I didn't read anything about that. I'll remove it and try it again. Back in a bit.
I update the message 929 with this information. The zip contain the apk but other folders (META-INFO..) and files. When you see such folders in zip, remember that is a flashable zip or if you prefer to do it "manually", you have to push apk AND the other files at their right place in system

**Edit**
I've flashed the HTC Ime and it works for me

Yes mate. Just use a file manager like 'root explorer' and navigate to the 'system' folder and delete the app's (appname.apk) you'd like to remove.

As you've used to overlay script, they get installed into the system folder, therefore stopping you from using the normal 'un-install' method.

My google sync always fails at first mate. Each time I flash a new beta, I have to navigate to 'Accounts and Sync', click my account name (the google icon) and take the tick out of 'Sync Browser'.

Then all the other google sync options, calendar, contacts, gmail, google photos always sync fine. Make sure they're all ticked.

Give it a try, might help. Always work for me.
If you're having Browser Sync errors, try this:

Dumb question, where can I find latest cfs kernel? I switched to bfs and I'm getting worse battery drain for some reason. I searched the kernel post on OP and couldn't find it

Thx, am I right that u mean the system folder on the internal storage and then the app folder? because if i try to delete apk's i get the notification that the apk cant' be deleted...
