i'm tuning out of xda forever. can't handle all of this crap. ics sense (which i can live without) will have to wait for htc leaks. any aosp rom is dependent on cm so watch their twitter/google+/forum.

guess what. they all know ics just dropped. now all the noobs will be asking "come on man, where's my ice cream sandwich?" if anyone is lucky, you will see a cm rom before the end of the year. don't expect an htc leak until 2012.

can we close this thread now?
Here, take this chillpill...

is that why there are so many 2.3 aosp builds for the sensation that aren't based on cyanogenmod?
Hmmm let's see there is 11 pages in the HTC Sensation Android Development forum. And in the first 6 pages you will find 10 ROMs built from source\ASOP. Oh what you must have forgotten about MIUI it is ASOP too. And there is a couple of individual or other de. Team ASOP ROMs too. Now again educate yourself and stop embarrassing yours. I mean really

It is and it isn't. Its based on CM which is in turn a heavily modified version of stock Android based on AOSP. So in a round about way you could say it is, but official miui builds are based off of CM source not AOSP.

This thread brings up a good question however. So are there actually any ROMs out there that are not based on CM? I am not talking about Sense based ones, but actual AOSP ROMs? I had not really given it much thought until now, so I am curious.

Noob Q: Would compiling an ICS rom from the source code mean that it'll fully support dual core? Since ICS "made" to support dual core devices...

Well CM source is based off of Google ASOP. So if MIUI is based of of CM source, in a round about way they are ASOP. The point being that they are not a modified\cooked custom ROM that started out as a stock ROM. And it is not a ported ROM from another device., now to me that unequivocally makes it a ASOP ROM.

Ok I checked and it does seem you are correct, I do appologize for my felonious statement. Still this only shows the Sensation needs more good true ROM developers, and CM source is the preferred source. Let's hope the first one changes.

pr0 tip. If it runs the amaze cam or has htc's quick settings, it's not aosp

If it starts out as ASOP and has a feature ported from another device or a stock feature added to it. It is still ASOP as the base build is ASOP.

Oh and Quick Settings is not a HTC exclusive thing. Go search it in the market.
