I dont get what all the issue is about posting this. Its in the general section and some people get excited cause its coming soon or getting closer. True not everyone knows how much work goes into getting AOSP ROM to work on a specific device, but lets not belittle others knowledge/understanding of android because you know so much more. Some people just got an android phone and others are new to rooting and flashing roms, but everyone started as a "noob". This is my 3rd android phone that i've rooted and flashed roms on and I still dont know it all.

Dont understand why people get all worked up. If you dont like the topic or question and think its dumb, just move on. It's helping someone learn something or it wouldnt be a the top of the section.

Shannon, Ms.
Way to repeat exactly what I wrote champ. You're winning ;)
Sorry man I just wanted to drive home that point is all. I just get tired of seeing people whining on here about things but never getting off there a$$ and trying to develop something to change the situation is all. But the winning statment was really unnecessary now wasn't it.

I understand you and I am not tryin.g to come off as a a-hole. But if you are going to be flashing , rooting, and modding your device you should try to fully understand what it is you are doing and where the software you are flashing to your device came from, that is just my opinion.

Oh and this thread started out in the development forums and quickly got moved to General. Which I new was going to happen as people started flooding it.

Agreed, no ones trying to be an a-hole, and people should be informed. Recently people seem to have such a short fuse for "noob" questions/rules, not really talking about you specifically, just stuff I've read and seen on XDA. Everyone starts at the bottom or maybe I havent been on XDA long enough to get frustrated yet. :D

i'm tuning out of xda forever. can't handle all of this crap. ics sense (which i can live without) will have to wait for htc leaks. any aosp rom is dependent on cm so watch their twitter/google+/forum.

guess what. they all know ics just dropped. now all the noobs will be asking "come on man, where's my ice cream sandwich?" if anyone is lucky, you will see a cm rom before the end of the year. don't expect an htc leak until 2012.

can we close this thread now?
Stop being a debbie downer and let everyone be happy that ICS Source code dropped. Besides, the majority population knows that ICS will come in a month or two for our phones. :D;)

after reading hihlight from android devlopper....

After taking the time to read about hilight of ICS, there really no hurry for those who have chance to have an HTC as 80% of new features that will be embeded in This ROM are HTC sense 3.5 feature...
So it's just bringing HTC fonctionnality to other manufacturers of device that have not sense.
MAy help you guy wait if you're obsessed by having the last version instead of the better one for device... sometime lowering performance if device thinked to use older ROM...
But WE may get advantage of dual-core if it's more optimised for new devices..

nrvnqsrxk used to be a mad rabid forum guard dog too.

Yelled at noobs all the time for asking stupid questions.

One day the forums started getting quiet and it became lonely.

nrvnqsrxk decided he liked having people to talk to so he started being nicer and becoming everyone's friend.

People started posting again and things got lively. nrvnqsrxk wasn't bored so much anymore.

Happy ending!!!!

In all seriousness, I'm glad source got released early. Things were kinda getting dead around here, and now we have something android to look forward to for Christmas.

My 2p...

Everyone says without CM we won't have an AOSP ROM on the Sensation. Not necessarily true. There was a dev for the Desire, AdamG, who made his ROM 100% from the source code and didn't use any CM tweaks/code at all.

All it takes is someone like him to do the same here but it's unlikely as there's aren't as many Devs working on the Sensation (sad, but true).

Anyway, good news nonetheless

the ICS Launcher on the market was just something somebody made based on the rumours around the leaks of the GN.

Anyway, I'm trying to get my build environment set up. Does anybody know what the idvendor and idProduct for pyramid/sensation should be in the 51-android-rules file?

Code:
# fastboot protocol on pyramid (sensation)
 SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="????", ATTR{idProduct}=="????", MODE="0600", OWNER="unfunk"
# fastboot protocol on pyramid (Sensation)
 SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="????", ATTR{idProduct}=="????", MODE="0600", OWNER="unfunk"

I remember those days with oxygen on desire. But I think that difference is that desire was very similar to nexus one, so devs can use drivers designed for nexus and use it for desire. There were plenty of non-sense roms for desire because of this similarity to first google dev phone..maybe I am wrong, I am not dev for sure..anyway I hope to see ICS on Sensation soon:)

oxygen

Oxygen is for gs2 to. And that phone not the clouse to nexus line. _thalamus mace kernel for sensation. And privat oxygen port for test. Not realise. He said in future tray mace ics port.

When GB AOSP was released last year like now, CM took a long time before releasing nighties because they were afraid of bugs
Though some xda devs succefully released custom roms based on AOSP a couple of days after the AOSP launch!
For Sensation the only little problem is the resizing process (qHD size) that will take more time, when we see our very competent devs like CtDroid and IC works I am pretty sure we will have a working ICS rom by Christmas :D
