Hi,

I'm wondering if it will be possible to run ICS in tablet mode (meaning launcher, widget sizes, launch bar etc.) on Note?

What I mean is to have the same desktop on Note as on EEE Pad Transformer Prime. Both have the same resolution, 1280x800, both will run ICS, so theoretically it should be possible? ;)

But the system ui can't handle the DPI being that low and crashes... so, while in theory possible... It's gonna have to be hacked in somehow *shrug*

It definitely works in the Alpha release of CM9 as that was the main reason I put it on. Only thing that crashed was the default launcher by CyanogenMod. If you install another launcher like Nova, it works fine. It's the main reason I'd go ICS, tablet mode is really a sight to see, it's absolutely amazing on the Note.

Unfortunately, in the new leaks of ICS it doesn't work.

And, the DPI only needs to get to 213 (on the Note) to activate Tablet Mode.

Thanks for sharing your experience of the tablet mode, it certainly does look very appealing! In portrait mode is the notification bar as well as in landscape as pictured in my previous post?

Yes, in portrait or landscape, the status bar stays at the bottom and functions the same. The soft buttons are bunched together with the status bar, so you don't lose extra real-estate.

I personally can't wait to disable my capacitive buttons and use the soft buttons with ICS, as the capacitive buttons are the only downfall for the note IMO.

If you use either Nova or Apex launchers, edit DPI to 160, any of these work fine in tablet mode. If you want the on screen buttons, there is a custom rom in development that does just that. No need to go to tablet mode.
