Yes, just copy the apk over to system/app. If you do it with a filemanager on your Tab (like RootExplorer), it will FC until you reboot it. For this version I didn't need to delete the SystemUI.odex. And the apk also is not named SystemUI - so there was no need for me to backup the SystemUI.apk too.
I the v2 the relevant file is named SystemUI.apk and thus you have to backup the original first. I didn't delete the odex there too.
If it doesn't work upon reboot, you can push the original apk via adb to reset it or - in this version - delete the "ICS Status bar.apk". Best way though is, if you make a nandroid backup before (!!!) all this to be able to restore it if all is lost...
If that all makes no sense to you, it surely would be better for you to read everything about adb, recovery and nandroid (wiki, google, etc.) before proceeding - I don't mean that offending.
Edit: forgot to say - this version works with both 6800 and 6810. For Version2 you have to choose the right file!
