So when ICS first came out I was pretty excited. but now...

I flash THS ICS right when it comes out, full of bugs but it was pretty.
I flash back to GB for a long while
I flash back to THS at build 5
I flash to MIUI V4 and am still there.

BUT:

When I install any ICS rom, my phone works fine for a day or so, then is riddled with random reboots.

Sometimes even when I do a normal reboot, it'll go into a recovery loop for no reason, And I'll have to restock my phone before using it again. I can't simply reinstall the rom im on.

Also with MIUI V4, it makes me restock the phone with every V4 update, is that just me?

my install process:
restock with EH03 FULL ODIN
ODIN CWM4 fixed for CM7
flash THS BUILD 2
flash MIUI v4 rom.

anything im doing wrong?

yes...flash aokp b34 if you want a more positive ICS experience. Miui v4 is still buggy and lags, but that does not mean all ICS roms are that way. I have not had one reboot since build 28 of aokp or any bootloops either. Phone bsolutely flies, but there are a few things you need to do to properly set it up:

AOKP Glitched b34:

1) disable the 100mhz step
2) overclock to 1200mhz
3) -50uv across the 200-1200mhz steps
4) under dev options set back ground process limit to 4(this has to be reset after every reboot unless you use tasker)
5) also under dev options set to destroy activity soon as its left
6) fiops/lagfree
7) uncheck resize any widget in apex advanced settings
8) report back

I have tried AOKP but it was an earlier build, I'll try the latest and let you know tho, its annoying and it drains my battery

and when i get to miui, and i use the three button method of getting to recovery, its stuck in a recovery loop period.

Never 3 finger to recovery from ics, you will boot loop every time. There are instructions in the miui v4 thread on how to boot to recovery.

I've had my Fascinate for 20 months, and have been flashing ROM's for 19 of them. I can honestly say I've never had ANY custom ROM that runs good for more than 2 weeks. No matter if it was Eclair, Froyo, GB, or ICS. Its simply the nature of the beast. AOKP is by FAR the most functional and stable custom ROM I've ever used, its that good. At least give the new Milestone 5 a shot.

Where do I set #6 and #7?

Forgive me, I took the plunge into AOKP today so I'm still fairly noobish.. LOL

Quick question, does AOKP still have all the standard mtd issues, like speakerphone echo, phantom ring, and mms problems? Been out of the loop for a while and just curious.....

Speakerphone echo, yes
In call volume, yes, but people have claimed success with various callboost options in Glitch
Phantom ring, unsure, I personally don't get it
MMS - I think some people have this fixed?

the call boost script gets it close enough...i have no complaints from anybody on the other end when using speaker phone.

Can you point me how to create a rule in Tasker for that? I'm using latest one from store.
not sure if you can...was just suggesting it as a possibility.
