My carrier has the extra option that the incoming caller will get his : Name and NUMBER displayed on my phone EVEN if it is not in my contact list.

Anyone had any success of having this work on the TP2 :(

I am paying for the option but it does not work on my TP2. Only number shows on the incoming caller. Not both name and Number.

AGAIN, I repeat. YES, BOTH name and NUMBER SHOULD show on my screen even if the caller is not on my contact.

Any help please.

:eek: Cool...I've never heard of that as a carrier-available option! What provider do you have?

I believe that Rogers in Canada also has this option but it only works for phones that are locked to their system. It does not work on my Tilt2. One of the "benefits" of buying an overprices, out of date phone from them I guess.

I have seen something similar when someone calls me from a local Manulife office. The call shows "MANULIFE" (or MAUNLIFE due to a typo error by the operator) instead of the number.

No subscription from me required though :D

Yes Exactly. This option is available by Fido/Rogers.

I am paying for it, but i cannot use it for some reason. I was hoping to find a software that will allow me to do so.

Maybe if we tried to revmove the (+1) for all incoming calls, i think it would work. What do you guys think?

Any help regarding this matter guys?

He is referring to the multiple posts. It is not necessary to post the same question in every thread on the forum.
I agree with you. Not necessary to post in multiple threads. However, it is also not necessary to make sarcastic posts like the previous poster either. A PM would have sufficed. Now there is a string of 3-4 useless posts because someone thought that a sarcastic remark would be clever...:rolleyes:

Anyway, back on topic. As per the link in my post earlier in this thread, it does seem to work with the default WM dialer, just not with the HTC dialer (at least not fully). I would tend to think that the cab in the other thread is missing a registry edit to allow it to work in the HTC dialer. Unfortunately, I'm not bright enough to figure out which one it is. :)

The cab makes these 4 edits (related to CNAP):
<characteristic type="HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL">
<parm name="Dll" value="rilphone.dll" datatype="string" />
<parm name="EnableRogersALM" value="1" datatype="integer" />
<parm name="EnableRogersCBM" value="1" datatype="integer" />
<parm name="EnableRogersCNAP" value="1" datatype="integer" />

I've also seen this one referenced as well on a different thread:
characteristic type="HKLM\Software\HTC\RIL\RILConfig" translation="filesystem" >
<parm name="EnableSpnOnsEonsFeature" datatype="integer" value="64" />

I haven't tried applying that one yet.

One thing is for certain, the rilphone.dll from the Rogers Diamond is a requirement.
