I'd like to tell you about a plastic screen protector I found for the Note 8.

Yeah it was a last ditch effort to try the s8+ version. Never would have thought I'd like it this much. Just put another one on to make sure it wasn't dumb luck. I put the other on my wife's. It's beautiful. Lol The key to no lift is near perfect alignment. You need to be patient with the bubbles on this one but they come out fairly easy and the protector is really durable to pulling up and putting back down a couple times for a flatter lay.

I actually found the S8 plus version was a bit easier to align due to the fact that it has cutouts up at the top versus one large section cut out like on the note version.
What case r u using?

I use a few and tested them all with no problems. I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid, the Samsung protective cover, the Samsung Alcantara, and the Incipio dual layer which is the one I have on right now.

Went hunting for these today. I had a Zagg glass curve on before this. I picked up 2, which is good, because I can't get the bottom right to stay stuck down on the first one. I've been pushing and holding for about an hour, but it keeps bubbling back. I may have put it on a little too high, I am going to try the second one after my kids go to bed later, so I can take a little more time. Applied it in the bathroom after running a hot shower.

Thanks but I tried that. It felt bad to me as far as texture. This one feels just like the glass. Unless I got a bad rinke lol
Just chiming in to say that the Invisible Defender feels terrible - much worse than the S8+ variant. It has been weeks, and it is still "sticky" feeling. I have tried sprays with silicon and/or PTFE (Teflon) and nothing helps for more than a few hours at best. The sticky feel is so bad, that instead of sliding or swiping, my finger ALWAYS just stutters along instead, resulting in accidental taps when I was only trying to swipe. If only they could somehow make it smoother.

bought mine at walmart, $10
kinda hard to find, was the last one too. its definately a plastic and not a gel-like layer like zagg. nor is it a glass.
its akin to what im used to, clarivue. I want nothing else but this type, i hate the way zagg films feel and right now these whitestone dome like glass covers look a hot mess to deal with.
heres hoping this turns out ok. will post pics after the install.

Just picked this up today and the fit and feel is nice but couldn't get the whole right side of the curve to stick. It's a shame

I have put IQ Shield on my Note 8 and it is great but it leaves marks after spen use. This is my biggest problem with screen protectors. Hearing all these horror stories about tempered glass that I don't even want to try it. So after reading pages and pages of reviews I've decide to leave Iq Shield for some time untill I really marked it up with Spen(which will happen within few days ?) and than just go bare without any of the protectors whatsoever. I guess we just don't have a choice.

Was thinking about this, or one of it's less expensive cousins

https://www.amazon.com/WHOOSH-Diamo...29052&sr=8-1&keywords=whoosh+screen+protector

I see some people swear by it and some say that it's a total fraud. Ideally it would be somewhere between no protector an a glass or plastic protector. A lot of the complaints seem to be that it doesn't keep the screen from breaking. I think that those people misunderstand that the best you could hope for is some scratch protection.

I've tried those types of protectors (that brand and others) before on a few phones. As far as I've been able to tell it's just a "placebo" effect when people think it works. I've used it on 3 phones, it didn't prevent even the slightest of pocket lint scratches. It's pretty much like paying to go bare. Yes, it does resist things like key scratches, pocket knives, change, etc. but so does naked glass. What it doesn't defeat are those faint little micro scratches from lint and dust. I've never had a phone get scratched by anything but that, so that's the one thing I hoped it could protect against.

YMMV, but 3 out of 3 fails put me off of them. But I agree, people who expect any screen protector to prevent breakage are idiots. The best you can ever hope for is to keep scratches at bay. Don't know where they get the idea that a thin layer of protection will prevent breakage.

It's a shame too because while I'd love to have screen protection I have NEVER (on any phone) found a screen protector that didn't either ruin the display quality, the feel or both. Without exception, they're all worse than biting my lip and tolerating the micro scratches. I had high hopes for liquid protectors when I learned about them.

DEFINITELY worth the $10, “ferris2375” sounded like just like me I have tried so many Note 8 Screen Protectors that I have seriously lost count, I know Amazon has to have me flagged by now as many screen protectors I have returned to them. I just eventually just broke down and bought a Whitestone dome glass. While I do love the Dome Glass protector, it’s a little on the thick side which you really notice when trying to slide in and out of a slim holster case. So as soon as I read this thread I rushed out to my local Walmart and bought the last 2 of these Walmart had and I have to say I am NOT disappointed at all. Hearing about this protector was right on time, because my Dome glass had a crack in it and I was cringing thinking about shelling out another $45 bucks. So this ONN screen protector from Walmart went on easy for me, maybe because I had had so much practice with failed screen protectors and it is just as ferris2375 states, it is smooth to the touch crystal clear super thin and adheres to the entire screen, only minor flaw I have found is that it attracts fingerprints a little easier than Dome glass, but other than that dare I say it’s perfect. Thanks ferris2375!!
