I live in Washington, DC and have not seen one person with a N1. Everytime I go into a T-Mobile store the employees always ask to see my phone. I made it stand out more since I have a skin and a case on it.

The other day I had my first nexus sighting, a girl at the gas station had one. And I live in the middle of nowhere in the desert in temecula ca! She asked if I had any problems with it, I said no, and she knew about the power button issue and recommended no lock, ha ha. Who'd a thought.

Nexus is going in my permanent collection, collectors phone:)

I have never seen anybody in real life with a nexus one.
ONLY ONE!
This manager at work bought one. He actually bought the MyTouch a while after I had the G1. Then he bought the Nexus after I bought mine back in January.

He doesn't understand anything about root, etc. He's not a tech person at all. He just wanted a "fast phone unlike anyone else", cause he hated his iPhone, and asked my recommendation.

... I went into the ... store to browse around ... and a black guy ... he whipped his out. So I showed him mine ...
LMAO
I love this story!

I showed mine in the local TMO store too.
It was passed around like a brand new puppy. All the guys and girls were oohhinh and aahhing.
:)

I wonder how long it will be until Google has a manufacturer produce another developer phone?

The Nexus one is the most perfect phone for me and I cant see anything but another developer phone replacing it. It's beautiful, cutting edge, gets updates quicker, is with T-mobile, and is not under carrier control.

What more could you want?
WHAT MORE?
Next generation processor + GPU + more RAM please.

No offense... but threads like this make us look like iPhoneys.
I am totally offended.

I've also never seen anyone else in real life with a Nexus although I know some one that has one. I've had mayyybe 4 people know what it is, most people are just like, is that one of those Droid phone things? When I say no its the Nexus One but it runs the Android OS like the Droid phones they just look like I switched to speaking chinese so I usually go with a, nevermind, and move along. Haha. Oh and mine also got passed around the Tmobile store like it was an alien meteorite specimen at NASA.

About roughly 20 of the people I deal with on a regular basis have nexus ones. AND they are all enthusiastic users.

I still think the Nexus Series should continue as an exclusive carrier free device of sorts...google should look into all the people who bought one with their Google accounts then every 12-18 months come out with a Nexus # in limited quantity and give them a weeks headsup and a 12-24 hr pre-the masses ordering period.

The phone would be the ultimate exclusive phone like it is now...but this time planned...and in no way could it interfere with OEMs and carriers...it'd be a win win win win. (google, OEMs, Carriers, and most importantly, end users).

You think if we all sent a petition or whatever to google and got as many people to view and post as possible (upwards of 100K) we could influence this?

A man can dream

This turned out to be a really cool thread.

So one time I was in Atlantic City, I was headed to the beach bar in front of Bally's casino. As I'm walking in, I'm obviously messing with my phone as I make my entrance lol. So the bouncer stops me, I'm thinking wtf I guess he's gonna card me or whatever. He's like "woah, is that a nexus one?!" I'm like "hah yea man.", then I pass it to him. He was like "wow, can I ask you how much you paid for this?" I said "like five sixty.. but trust me, its worth it..." lol. I got pics of that day there, I'll post if I can find them.

I never seen anyone with a nexus though (Philadelphia area).

There seem to be quite a few people at Johns Hopkins University with N1s. Just the other day, I saw someone playing with his case-less N1 while waiting for a cross-campus shuttle. Additionally, one of my photography clients purchased an N1 after seeing mine do hulu and SNES emulation with a bluetooth controller. Plus my lady (in avatar) has an N1 as well, which she uses as a glorified iTouch until her VZW contract (currently using HTC Touch Pro) expires.

I live in the Seattle area and take the bus to and from work and see a surprising number of N1's out in the world. My commute is mainly on the East Side (Kirkland/Bellevue area). Believe it or not, I know more people working at Microsoft with Android phones than Windows Mobile phones. LOL! :D

been to lunch with two googlers. of course they had both gotten their free nexus. but, as always with people being spoiled, they liked it but didn´t even know how to check their android-version. i showed them :p but they said google is rolling out updates all the time over the air to have that kind of testing group

Really? I live in the Seattle area (Eastside - Renton/Bellevue) and I have seen little. But I have to agree with you with the Microsoft thing. I have a friend of a friend who works there, and he used to have nothing but winmo phones, but then he got the iPhone (ha) and all he did was brag about it. So I brought over my Nexus, and while I was there I did nothing but brag about it and work on it. He got jealous =D

Toronto - I've never seen anyone with a Nexus One.

A guy that I play softball with said he just got one last week after my recommendation. I was actually surprised, didn't think he'd drop $600 on a phone like that. He was also looking at the Legend, but went for the N1 instead.

From an overall perspective, the N1 is the best phone out there. Hardware, software, and probably most importantly development.

I was looking at trying a WP7 when they come out, but based on the previews on Endgadget/Giz today I don't know...

It would take quite a bit right now for me to switch from the N1.

Got a question: why is google shutting down the production of N1? <- currently it's selling on mass e.g. in Germany... delivering delays up to 2-3 month...
So why do they let their child die?
