I already did that. Some other people have too. Sim cards arent that costly. Besides you can always retrieve your Line if you fry it

bought about 5 sims and used them via nail file and fire method which brings me to conclusions:
I confirm the fire method works easier however you will just have the metal part of the sim left, if you use the nail file method, it takes more effort but an advantage is you can have some plastic part left. This is useful when switching phones in the future, well just add some paper in the back of the "thinned" sim to support it

Hi i tested with 5 SIMS and burned all of them.
1) Some plastic remain on the back making the SIM thick
2) the SIM fired up. Gold went to black
3) Plastic got a bit thinner then the golden side broke
....

how the hell did you do that ?
Is a lighter too hot ?

After SIM 7 and 8 i think i finally found the right approach.

Keep the lighter only 2 seconds under the SIM while holding it in the hand. Then use the finger nail to seperate the sim from the plastic.
The SIM does not to be that hot that you can remove the gold plate.
On Monday i will get the 128GB SD and some glue. Hope it works.

You were doing it wrongly. You only have to expose one part of the tip of the plastic to the flame and when it starts melting you pull the chip out.

Good thing you finally got it right anyway

It will definitely work. Make sure you turn off your phone before trying it though. Where are you getting the 128GB from? All the ones they sell in my country are either fake or overpriced.

At the moment i have some difficulties with the super glue.
It doesnt hold the SIM when i put it into the tray :(
I'm also bit scared to damage the slot. Let's see i will try with another glue. But the 128GB SD itself is recognized correctly by the phone.
Scandisk.

You could use an OTG USB stick for files? Just keep the important stuff in internal memory. That's my plan, although I have a 64Gb mSD in my old phone that would be good to make use of......

EDIT:
Just tried removing the chip from an old SD card, can do it but the actual memory chip in it is too thick to put straight on top of the mSD. I'd say to do it properly without damaging the socket, you would need to dremel a little plastic from the back of the mSD and superglue the SIM onto it.

I'm not damaging a nice and semi expensive phone for this and I need slot 2 working.

I cut my normal micro SIM to Nano size and have it installed now, so running my work SIM in slot 1 and personal SIM in slot 2.

Later I'll look at using an old, small mSD card and an uneeded SIM to see if I can join the two together at the right thickness for this mod. Will use the nail file to make a shallow trench across the mSD and grind some plastic from the centre for the chip to nestle into and glue it in. It must sit within the mSD casing so it doesn't catch the socket pins as you push it in. If it ruins the mSD, well, I won't do it to my 64Gb card.
