if google buy htc's mobile division

If that happens, does it mean that the htc u11 will receive updates faster? What else does it mean for htc

It would probably depend on how Google takes over. They could buy them out and change the name or they could buy them out and finance products and production leaving the entity "HTC" in production of their own stuff.. Until the contract is signed, no-one knows.
