If you'd like to complain to AT&T about Qi here's their address for it.

I think if we all call and complain and send angry letters to this address, maybe we can get them to enable Qi with a software update. Are you guys with me?

I'm not on AT&T so I'm not sure what's the problem. Does wireless charging not work on the ATT G3? Or just not certain chargers?

I have tried things like this before but Att doesn't give a sh*t to be honest. We are such a minority they could care less about our opinion. It's sad but that's what happens with big carriers.

Might get better traction on social media, where others can see us shaming them, instead of sending letters they can just throw away. Go to twitter and tweet this " Hey @att it was kind of rotten of you to disable Qi wireless charging in the new LG G3. Might have to return it and move on to @verizon "

I think it's important to include verizon, instead of T-Mobile, as they don't see T-Mobile as a threat.

You'd be surprised how quickly company's react to stuff that gets put out there on twitter and facebook, compared to letters/phone calls that nobody other than them and whoever sends the letter/makes the call ever knows about.

u can get the lg g3 quick circle case which has the qi wireless charging, att just didn't include it because they want to smooch some more money of us. also you can just buy a different back plate with qi charging to make it work. there's no software disabling it

The quick circle case AT&T sells is powermat, not Qi, and according to people on here who have bought them, different backplates with Qi charging specifically do not work on the AT&T model G3.

That won't do anything. Even if they wanted to change their minds (which they won't from this), they already have a deal with powermat and i'm sure it will last at least a year or so. The average person won't care because they won't see a difference between qi and powermat - in fact if anything they'd want powermat support because of starbucks.

This is the response I got to my tweet... as we assumed, nothing will change...

"Thank you for your feedback in regards to wireless charging, I will pass it along. ^MichelleB"

My G3 is going back...

And another thing. I'm sure they devs and others we have around here at xda will surely come up with some way to enable qi if at all possible.

Gotta say I'm pissed that they straight up disabled the ability to use Qi charging. Oh well... I really like this phone regardless.

Just out of curiosity, what the hell are you guys expecting to happen? That they're going to recall everyone's G3 and outfit it with the Qi circuitry? For them to stop production of the PMA charger and replace it with Qi? That they'll end their business partnership with PMA? Might as well hold your breath and wait for Apple to adopt MicroUSB.
