March
Connect phone to PC and install Huawei pc suite (don't know actual name of suite) check for updates. Mine was stuck on march security patch and once I connected to PC the updates came flying in one after the other.

I am in US, have HMA-L29 (confirmed with customer service this is Singapore version), and I am stuck on May security patch. Current version is 9.0.0.270. I tried change Hicare region (China, HK, UK, Singapore etc.) but failed all. I contacted customer service in Singapore, they say I need to insert local (means Singapore) sim card to receive update. I contacted China customer service they say they can't help because they only support Chinese version. I guess I will never receive any update unless I move to Singapore... SH******T.

Try using e-recovery. Maybe works for you

Thanks for the info, can you let me know what is erecovery or give me a link so i can check?
The erecovery method worked for me, very easy. Charge phone, enter recovery ( phone off, power and volume up button pressed until phone boots into recovery mode ). There's an option there to look for latest available update. It took about 30 mins in total. Very easy.

Thank you so much! This doesn't require reset and will not delete my files/photos, correct?

Just tried it unplugged, doesn't give the option. You need to be plugged in.
So I tried plugged in, the option to download latetest and recover showed up. I selected this one, then it detects and starts to download 9.0.0.270, which is the one I am currently on. So I canceled. Does it need to go through current version and then dwnload next available one and finally to 9.1.0? Or looks like my phone can only detect 9.0.0.270.

Mine saw the next update. You could try though, no harm in it

I just tried the same method, did not get a new update. Should be getting Android 10 by December, if not I'm finding a new home
Same here. I tried to download the 9.0.0.270 in erecovery, wishing I will receive the 9.1.0 update after that. But no, can't get any newer version. Maybe the customer support is correct, I can't update without Singapore sim card. I will wait to December see if any chance to get Android 10, otherwise it will be on swappa. What a shame.

My phone is the Canadian version (bought it off Ebay) and been stuck on the 2.0.0.269 version for the longest even when I was told I'd get 9.1 at the end of September.
Saw people mentioning getting a sim from Singapore so purchased one off of amazon for $9 and got the 9.1.0.300 on my LYA_L0C.

EDIT: 1 minute after im now getting updates for the 9.1.0.310 version.
EDIT 2: Finished updates on 9.1.0.335
