Ok, Only you need to replace data.zip, branding.zip file and sys.txt
iGO will be run in 480*800 resulation, to putting device in landscape mode, change Orientation from:

Setting->Device->Set Screen Orientation

this configuration is working with following iGo versions for sure
...
Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.2.93112 (Jun 8 2009)
Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.2.97313 (Jul 3 2009) - official retail R3 PDA version (*)
Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.4.102680 (Aug 13 2009)
Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.4.117940 (Nov 3 2009)
Nav N Go iGO8 v8.3.2.124260 (Dec 16 2009) - official retail R3 PDA version (*)

Must Know about these two versions (v8.3.4.102680) / (v8.3.4.117940)

New features have been added to those releases such as Driver alerts:

attachment.php

It will only works with Navteq maps, also Dimka Skin and GJ Skin are supporting Driver alerts :D

sys.txt:

Code:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"
save="%SDCard%/iGO8/save"

[device]
Type="ALIAS_TOUCH HD"
sdcard_dsk_num=7

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
shutdown_time=0
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
autoconfig=1
driver="GX"

[sound]
ding=0

[config]
autoset2donmap=1
autoset3doncockpit=1

3dcarsizemin=3500
3dcarsizemax=5000

disable_outlookpoi=0
show_oneway=1
show_oneway_3d=1
show_lane_info=1
show_speed_limit=0
skip_eula=1
enable_roadshadow=1

[power]
powermgm_state=0
backlight_day=95
Backlight_night=15

[poi]
enable_pois_before_080217=1

all credit goes to Tom creater of DIMKA Skin who prepared following files for us:

data.zip (With Supporting Driver Alert) Extract rar file and copy data.zip to iGO folder
Code:
http://netload.in/dateiQARgzbBSlU.htm

branding.zip (With Supporting Driver Alert) Extract rar file and copy branding.zip to iGO folder
Code:
http://netload.in/dateid9uf4eKoX7.htm

after replacing data.zip if you get this error:

10qzy8j.jpg

then delete flowing lines from sys.txt:
Code:
[Project]
name = "igo8_pda"
and also these lines if present at [interface] section
Code:
skin = "ui_igo8"
skin = "ui_igo8_da"

For peace of mind Use sys.txt from this post

FAQ

Q: What shall I do if I update data.zip or even iGO.exe?
A: For the best result delete save directory before doing that take backup of your favourites

Q: Do I need to install iGO with each flash?
A: No if you already installed it on SD Card just make shortcut to iGO.exe

Q: I have a Touch Diamond 2, do I need to modify any thing?
A: exchange Type="ALIAS_TOUCH HD" with type="Touch Diamond II" on [device] section

Q: I dont have signspot on motorway
A: Add this line to sys.txt
Code:
[interface]
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1

Q: I want to show histspeed data on the map what should I do?
A: First you must have histspeed data historical travel time and measured speed in your content folder and add these lines to sys.txt and oly works if you have iGO v8.3.4
Code:
[route.histspeed]
enabled=1
show=1
use_timeslice=1

Q: I did run iGO and get this message "Program application database cannot be found. Please insert original application SD card."
A: Check iGO path in sys.txt need to correct
Code:
[folders]
app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

Q: Street names are too small for me
A: Add this line mapfontscale=180 to [interface] section you can increase the number as well

Q: How can I disable automatic view change on roundabouts
A: Add this lines to sys.txt
Code:
[roundaboutcam]
enabled=0
centery=20

Q: What is TTS and how can I add it to my iGO
A: TTS (Text To Speech) is the way that your iGO will talk to you and says exactly what you need to listen for better driving experience, basically it is advance voice for your iGO and it’s only works with PNA version. In the past it was impossible to run TTS under WM6.5 while Manila 2.5 running in background but not any more thanks to BigE
Add these lines to your sys.txt and make sure you have TTS package including with your iGO.
Code:
[tts]
tts_buffer=131072
announce_exit_directions=1
tts_logics=3
priority="HIGH"
always_say_road_names=1
announce_street_name=1
skip_exit_numbers=0
supress_trivial_left=1
supress_trivial_right=1
expected_engine_delay=1400

WRONG! The data.zip and the branding.zip are under copyright by NavNGo! So you are spreading parts of the program which are not yours!

The only configuration file is the sys.txt!

Reported to Mods...

WRONG as well
Supported Screen Resolution for official version:
320x240 or 240x320, 240x240 or 320x320, VGA (640x480), 240x400, 400x240
more info:
Code:
http://www.navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_description

for getting 480*800 resolution you need make change manually inside sys.txt, branding.zip, data.zip. (Just changing sys.txt is not enough) That is why I am providing these files, it is like tweaking iGO
if you are right then no one here must provide information for changing manila files

WRONG!!!

If you had bought the product and upgraded through the correct web site, the info is already included in the data & branding files for that version. You dont have to change anything in the sys.txt file to get landscape or portrait working in high res.
In fact your sys.txt file is wrong. You are telling it that the screen is 800 x 480 and yet you have told it it is VGA when infact the HD screen is WVGA!

Also, the above versions allow you to set up the screen orientation without modifiying the sys.txt file or (the latest version) you can set it to device and if you are using a screen rotation app, if manilla rotates, iGO8 will automatically open to that mode.

Those 2 topics exist because at the time of the HD release, iGO8 didnt support the resolution 0f 480 x 800 in any of the data or branding files. It is only in the 2 latest versions that the proper files exist. The very latest version has support for the HD officially but the version before didnt (I cant remember off hand which file it is but one of them lists all the supported devices in alphabetical order).

As regards the VGA :confused:. VGA is 480 x 640 which is the resolution of the Diamond which was supported. If you look in your sys.txt file you have "vga=1". It should be vga=0 because it isnt a 480 x 640 screen is it.

If you are using the latest exe, data & branding files try this in your sys.txt file and try it.

[interface]
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
driver=gx

and remove these lines -

screen_x=800
screen_y=480
class="landscape

screen_x=800
screen_y=480

My sys.txt looks like this -

[device]
Type=Alias_touch_HD

[Interface]
maxzoom2d=600000
show_exit=1
shutdown_time=0
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
autoconfig=1
driver="gx"

[sound]
ding=0

Those are the first 4 catergories after the program location.

I'm gonna chime in here, to say that Igo8 does support HD resolution.

I'm running the latest (10thMarch) Igo8 and dont need any of that sys.txt resolution tweaking malarky that was needed for the earlier versions.

With the correct exe, data, and branding files, Igo8 will run perfectly on the HD with no sys modification at all. In full resolution, not stretched or distorted :)

I should imagine these files are copyright/protected etc..by NavNGo, which is why I havent linked or posted them here.

The sys.txt is for tweaking Igo with personal settings...each to their own..

Mine:

No problem, glad I could help.

My sys file is a work in progress as Im always looking to tweak it. Im currently trying to shut up the "route recalculation" voice but as yet have been unable to do it. I know if I edit the ini file of the TTS voice file I use it will stop but I would prefer to find the correct entry for the sys file.
