With pleasure. (both are done on auto/superior auto respectively)
Xperia Arc: ~2.5MB, super long exposure times and thus overexposed images
Xperia V: ~2MB, slightly oversaturated blues

No XS though :(

But seriously, XZ is pretty darn good for the file size already.

The problem is the fuzzy, lack of (or abscent of...) details and smeared out photos caused
by way too heavy use of compresseion and noise supression/reduction when taking photos in
anything but in excellent light conditions (its not very good in ideal light condition either...)

Take some pics in low light (indoors) using ARC, XPS, XPV and compare it to pics taken with XPZ.
The XPZ pics is a joke, theres absolutely no details left in the photos..

The "fix" is really easy, its just a matter of reducing the level of compression/supression/reduction used ;)

I bought the XZ mainly because of the camera. The quality is okay, but not that good. Compared to my Galaxy Nexus the quality isn't that good and the Galxy Nexus uses a 6 MP cam. Let's hope Sony will fix this in a future update.

Looking at this (http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=1&idPhone1=5204&idPhone2=4958&idPhone3=3619), your point is completely invalid. The XZ's image is definitely the sharpest. The Xperia V is fuzzy, while the Xperia Arc fudges up the horizontal lines on the right, whereas you can still distinguish the lines in the XZ's image. If you replace the Xperia V with the Xperia S, like so (http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=1&idPhone1=5204&idPhone2=4369&idPhone3=3619), the XS's image is still slightly fuzzier than the XZ.

Well...this test just proved the lack of details and overcompression again.
look at the grey chart. Horrible.

You are aware of that this is a synthetic test?
Pics taken in ideal light condition using lowest possible ISO setting?

It does not really reflect the real world performance.

Just like 3Dmarks is not a game (some people do think its a fun "game" haha)
nor i like spending time shooting posters in studio lightning ;)

The gray chart isn't the ISO chart for comparisons ;)

Yes, this is synthetic. Yes, best conditions. Since you say so...

Xperia Z: http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php...camera/gsmarena_005.jpg&idReview=887&idPage=8
Xperia V: http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php...camera/gsmarena_005.jpg&idReview=877&idPage=7
Xperia S: http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php...camera/gsmarena_005.jpg&idReview=741&idPage=6
Xperia Arc: http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php...camera/gsmarena_001.jpg&idReview=584&idPage=8

Move your cursor to the Met-Life words and compare. You'll realise the Xperia Z has the sharpest image. Xperia Arc doesn't have the same photo, but it's fairly obvious that the image isn't very sharp.

Where is the pics i was asking for?
Pics taken in low light/indoor using higher ISO? The pics where the compression/noise reduction really kicks in? ;)

How about you find them yourself and you show me :p
No need to find any, i can shoot them by myself ;)

Ok, lets start with the attached pic, its taken with a XPZ in the office, ISO manually set to 800. 100% crop.
What do you think about the quality? The details? The compression? The noise reduction ?
Let me know and i will post pics taken under the same condition using XPS/ACRO S, XPV, ARC.

I have to admit, not very good. Still, here's an Xperia V photo taken with same settings as you, in normal mode. Not very good either ;) One could argue that the XV's is better since it is sharper, but I took it at a pretty close distance (see original: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37910277/xperia v original.jpg), and it has a *lot* of RGB noise, something I didn't really see in the XZ's photo :)

Short and strange Sony's cameraphones story:
Arc S - perfect in all
Xperia S - wow what a noise,what a crap!Inposible to take a good picture in low light!
Xperia V - perfect.I really think that Sony comback on the right way!
Xperia Z - same as Xperia S.Noisy crap!Is it a SONY or what?Where do you go and how much we must waiting you?!
All that phones was mine and I know what they can!And Im not a profesional or high level phographer.I only want to take good pictures and to share it with friends. It was posible with Nokia N95,N97,c6,e90... Moto Razr and Defy...HTC Mozart,Desire Z,One S...Samsung Note,S2,S3,Note2...All they is good and usefull in low light.Xperia Z is not usefull after the sundown.

Image compression is not the issue so much here, the compression is actually not that high, about the same as the default jpg save on a computer. You are confusing compression with noise reduction.

The agressive noise reduction is the problem from Exmor R engine/driver, tossing out too much detail.

It is simple, get an image and sharpen it you will get a larger file (more contrast between pixels) therefore the jpg algorythm tosses less pixels because there a less similar pixels to remove.

Run a noise reduction on an image and there you have it, lots of dots, image noise gone forever, and because there are far less pixels there is far less information to compress, more similar pixels it can remove. Smaller file.

Try it for yourself, do what I talked about above, save the file with the same compression, you will be suprised how much that affects the final file size. A side note, do not modify the original file between tests, because each save runs the jpg compression algorythm even at 100%

Do u know if is there a way to take picture in uncompressed mode?
Yes and no, all jpg files are compressed, that is what jpg is. The phone does not shoot RAW (uncompressed).

Root your phone and you can reduce the compression to 100% quality from factory 80% (jpg defualt).

There is other software out there that can save the photos as dng uncompressed, but the quality is not a hell of a lot better because the problem is not compression, it is the camera driver written by Sony (Exmor R) aggressively removing image noise, the interface between your camera app and the hardware.

Edit to add an interesting read for anyone who is interested, from the legends in imaging sensor testing. Results and comments no suprise, lacks details/texture results from 13MP similar to worse than 8MP cameras.
