I have the s3 and the charging port on it does not work, wont charge no matter the cable, I've taken apart cleaned out nothing helps so I used another old s3 to charge batteries. I couldnt hook the phone to the computer due to the charging port so I would download roms onto a SD card and rooted using kingo and installed twrp using flashfire. I was testing out some roms and flashfired stock mk3 and nd2 which was fine but when I went back to mk3 moar 6.0 flashfire did not work with that version, so I twrp wicked mk3 rom and everything was ok. I had liked wicked x, I was having trouble flashing the nj2 firmware using mk3 so I flashed the the mk3 wicked. I also flashed the custom recovery (philz i think) that was preferred by the rom. Using the sd card i used in multiple devices, I clicked the samsung tab twrp by accident, it flashed, I didnt have a zip of the correct recovery and couldnt flash a image in whatever recovery i was in at the time.

I figured screw it I'll flash it once the phone boots up using flashfire or twrp app. Phone booted up, started initializing and turned off. I read in wicked x nj2/nd8 if you werent on that bootloader youd bootloop, I thought maybe being i had flashed nj2 bootloader before I might be ok. The phone just sits at the boot animation for wicked x and the buttons will flash like its about to boot up fully but never does. I cant get into recovery mode because I flashed the t217s twrp instead of the s3 one, I cant connect it to a pc because the ports messed up.

Is there a secret key combination or any genius ideas of making something happen with this or am I left at either replacing the usb port or trash it? I have another s3, its a verizon and the motherboard chips are a little different but was thinking of taking port off that and putting it on this s3 but not sure if superglue will be as good as soldering which i've never done. Is there a way to do anything in download mode without using a computer? Is there any tricks like putting aluminum on the tip of the charger before putting it in the phone that will connect it? lol anything? I had the workarounds great before but completely FD myself in a two hit combo I cant seem to get out of. I was doing fixing it for a friend, who also gave me a s7 that I was going to replace the screen on but the battery ripped open when I was prying it off and it puffed out smoke and if I touched it anymore it would spark a little so I threw it in a zipbag of water LOL cuz the note 7 fires so this one I need to have like the sweetest rom so I can be like oh and that s7 was like exploding and he wont be too upset plus with the note 7 issues i can suggest it was related, but with two non working things I am what I am apparently, an amateur.[/B

I couldnt figure out how to make it paragraphed, I put in tabs but it defaulted to terrible look and tried the align option but looked worse so hopefully the bold and unbold will be good enough Forget it i tried like 4 different things, i wouldnt read it either

I figured that was the only option, it sucks I couldnt believe it like i was cast down for my filthy sins lol like hazoos. It was obviously meant to happen for whatever reason, with replacing the port if I use any other mini usb that has same number of metal connectors (identical to s3) alls I need to make sure is that they are touching on the board right? like if I had to could i tape or even press down on it or glue it as long as the metal is touching the metal should be good? Glue concerns me cuz i dont think its a conductor so it could block the metal to metal, soldering concerns me since ive never before and have read that with this project if you havent soldered before it would be easy to burn up the board or anything else. Theoretically it should work if the 5 or whatever metal spots on board with a wire or metal something touchin each tab on the charging port it should work. lol messing around like this might end up having some type of walking talking frankenstein android. but i only need to do it once for like 5 min to flash twrp. I was going to swap motherboard out but the motherboard on the verizon s3 has different chips and doesnt fit into the spot on the sprint s3. Only option would be to seperate the frame from the screen. Sprint s3 has working screen/bad port, verizon has broke screen/working port. Tryn 2 do it so i can save face when i tell him his s7 had that note 7 bug but heres that s3 and customized lol. im' fd

You will have to repair the port before you can do anything else.

Do it for free - swap out the parts from your old S3.
