really?? so no need to backup internal storage?
also: just checked in twrp and when manually wiping sections, one can choose (amongst others) between storage and internal storage. whats the difference?

as always:thanks man!
I'm assuming "storage" would be for an sdcard, which of course we don't have. Whatever you do, don't wipe either one!! Why would you need to backup internal storage?? It's already there. Now..data, system, and boot, that's another story. Those are the only 3 things I backup/restore in twrp :good:

nah i just meant if i need to backup my pictures and music (meaning internal storage) because this gets wiped too, when performing a factory reset via system settings in android.

None of my stuff got wiped with a factory reset in twrp. All my music and pics, and everything else was still intact :good:

just read, that we dont wipe system partition any more. is that right? with a normal factory reset, system does not get touched?
Not on the P2XL it doesn't. It just wipes data and dalvik. Kinda think this is the reason why we've been having trouble with roms and such. But I could be wrong

I may have bricked my device. My process of flashing DU was as follows:

1) Flashed February image.
2) Boot into fastboot.
3) Boot into TWRP img then flash TWRP zip (v3.2.1-0) using ADB sideload
4) ADB sideload DU zip
5) Boot into ROM, did not setup PIN
6) Boot back into TWRP
7) Flash Magisk
8) Reboot back into ROM

At this point everything was going along smoothly; no issues. I then remembered that I forgot to install ElementalX 1.04. I downloaded the app from the Play Store then installed through the app. Rebooted but the phone never powered back on. Tried holding power button down multiple times for different periods of time (up to 120 seconds a couple of times). It won't go into fastboot. When plugging in the charger the charging animation never appeared. It's been sitting on the charger for over an hour now. I did notice that when the phone rebooted it was quite hot to the touch.

*sigh*

Why on earth did you side load it when the instructions were posted several times?? Might want to look for Deuces scrip to see if you can recover it. If you can get into fastboot again that is ?

From the horse's mouth:

Flashing instructions:
Go to TWRP
Factory reset
Flash rom and TWRP zip
Reboot and enjoy

If you get a vendor mismatch error message flash the correct vendor image.

If you're going to flash magisk make sure you flash it after you've booted the OS once.
