Hi All, Great thread btw thanks to AZ_Biker. I'd like to refresh the dialogue in here to see if there have been any advancements or new tips and tricks other than the original ones proposed. It seems like some of the best battery life came from those running eclipse. I personally love Alliance ROM and am curious about what others are doing to maximize battery life with that particular ROM. I am a very heavy user and I usually have to charge mid day and then again at night. I usually average about 4 hrs of SOT per charge but I use greenify, gsam battery monitor, DS battery saver with exposed module activated (Slumberer profile). I am on the NC2 kernel and I have heard elsewhere that switching to NC4 might increase battery life. In the past I have also tried to use apps like Juice Defender and Tasker with custom built profiles to turn data/network on and off at specific times or under certain contexts. I have had pretty limited success with those attempts. Best I ever had was about 2 days of battery life but only 5 hours of SOT in that time.

I do have some specific questions though and any info or insights would be very helpful:

1. I see many early references to Smart Network which was in some versions of Baja ROM but in Alliance I don't think that option exists anymore. (unless I haven't been able to find it amid all the other awesomeness). There is a "Network Restriction" mode and I'm wondering if these are the same or two totally different things.

2. I am curious if there are apps out there that compete to better your battery and in the process end up consuming more than they save. What I am asking specifically, are there apps that don't play well with Greenify for example? What is the right mix or recommended mix of battery saving apps? (or even exposed modules active or not). I also utilize the "Power Saving Mode" but not sure if it is doing anything other than dimming my screen a bit more despite the other things it says it does.

3. Does anyone have a real comprehensive list of the apps that can be frozen in the pure stock version of Alliance ROM that will not have an adverse effect. In my particular situation, I manually sync everything and I only want my phone to be able to receive calls, voicemail and texts when the screen is off. Anything else should only be activated if I am actively in that app. I don't use any social networking apps unless I can operate them from the standard mobile browser. To my knowlege I do not have anything I would consider a rouge app.

I try to use dark themes where possible and keep my screen brightness to about 1/8 the way all the time. I realize that I may not be able to get better than 6 hrs of SOT with heavy use but I'd be willing to try anything to keep me from having to charge more than once a day. I guess I kind of feel like I already do a lot to maximize battery life but am not getting the numbers that others are getting taking similar precautions. I wonder if I am missing something.

If anybody has any new tips or tricks especially using Alliance ROM, that would be really great. Thanks in advance for the support.

Sorry didn't see this sooner but yes it helps it puts a new battery bin. File when I tested I had installed a new rom drained battery to 1 % then phone died I rebooted to suck out remaining juice. I stayed at 0% battery for awhile. So I rebooted it eventually died. I fully charged phone calibrated then unplugged. Eventually drained and when it hit zero it was zero no reboot.

What it does is rims have different battery life's and the bin file keeps the memory of the rom. You don't want to use the old battery memory on a new rom would hinder performance of battery life imo so clean battery slate for new rom.

Yeah I have old pics of me getting amazing battery life what's not great is I didn't wright down what rom it was so idk on one I had it drain only 5 percent after an hour of hotspot. And had 7 hours of on screen time. Also the battery wouldn't drain when phone wasn't in use just be a straight line. Wish I could tell what rom it is from the photos. Maybe I can post them.

Just putting it out there... if you guys want to go to the extreme to extend battery life... you can buy a couple decent backup batteries and a battery charger for somewhere around $15 or less on amazon... When I get to about 5% battery I simply power down and swap to get a full 100% power again :D
