Just FYI, at least on the motorola droid froyo, there is a hex edit in services.jar that you have to make. Look at Xeudoxus' xUltimate tool for more details.

Thanks for the tip!

Anyone aware of the change you need to make in services.jar to enable transparency?

So I've tried installing this twice now, each time after install the phone blanks after the HTC boot screen, chills for a few minutes, then reboots.

Followed the instructions, which didn't error or complain. I'm confident I've done something wrong, just not sure what.

Any ideas?

I'm still working on the status bar for 2.2 . I can also confirm it lacking transparency.
Thanks for the confirmation.

Any way I can assist, or is it just an issue of finding the time to do it?

I can pull the framework-res.apk from CM6 if those files would help at all.

What exactly is..

So what exactly is turning transparent?
The notifications background?

Im looking to turn the actual status >> bar << transparent
I've tried to make the bar transparent but it was just black, then I realized it was probably in the xml somewhere but I never got around to tring to find it. This read on my mytouch
I now have an Evo n haven't got around to it yet but from what I've seem this thread was misleading but if anyone knows how it would be an awesome time saver

Quick question. Maybe you make a zip file so we can push this for 2.2 for incredible or maybe a MM theme. Not so good with pushing with adb.

Where is IHTFP69 at? The reason I ask is because Skyraider 3.3 has the transparency set just fine.. I have seen other posts on this issue, and I will search around, there has to be an answer for this... I made the blue theme you see in this pic, and I can tell you 2 things: 1. There is not a .png file to make the background, and 2. I was unable to change it to blue. I also would like to know how to change the color and transparency.. thanks

Now I have been working on this for a bit now and got most everything done with the exception of some app icons. I can seem to find the ones for vibrate, silent, and then you have a usb cable hooked up to the compuer icons? Anyone have any luck with these?

If I remember right they're in the com.htc.rescources.apk, I may be wrong though.
