I did flash the leaked stock and it is smooth as butter. miss root though and the battery drainage is kinda funky. have been running running it since last night with no other bugs. it is att and Samsung bloated up though
Try the Mystic ROM or maybe Ultimatum to get all your "clean stock ICS + root". I'm on MysticPride 11 and it is very good so far.

OK- I have read and read and read and read and read... you get the point..... I cant seem to get the counter off no matter what I have tried. I am only up to 3 now.... which does not seem like much but I am not happy about this. The link from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311081&page=11 states that you have to have the USB jig..... is this the ONLY way to remove the counter then?
There is an app on the play store made by chainfire called "triangle away?" (I believe that is the name).

* * * you must be in an ics 4.0 + to use this app!!!!

* * * damage to your phone is possible with this app * * *
User understands all risks associated with said use, but you should already understand the risks seeing your already rooted.

Edit: found link to free version

This looks like a good All-in-one-stop-shop thread. I think Ill stick this in hopes that it will cut down some noob thread/posts/questions.

I may also copy this over to the General section to...

I don't know...it looks like it could use some cleaning up.

Also, the best gingerbread rom there is isn't listed in the roms list...UnOriginal.

Yeah, UnOriginal isnt on the list and UnNamed has been abandoned. I also dont believe that shep is updating MIUI anymore.

Just a suggestion (don't know if this has been mentioned before, I didn't take the time to read this thread, shame on me XD), I've seen a lot of people having problems after following the galaxys2root.com website and using Zedomax's stuff to root. We always end up recommending they follow creepyncrawly's guide. Shouldn't we take down those how-to videos and links since they're outdated?

EDIT:
I don't know...it looks like it could use some cleaning up.
I tend to agree, however, the thread is still very useful, and with updates it could be really really great! Thanks to tom, Chris, and Red for working on getting together a sticky for the noobs :D

^This. So many n00bs using that stuff...and why shouldn't they? Nothing tells them not to when they google "root galaxy s2"...

I agree; this thread has a lot of potential to be great.

I was going to say this, but didn't want to since it would look like I was the evil guy with the other thread.

Chris, Im going to request that you be the owner of post #3 and #4 so both of you can update the information. Since you were keeping track of roms/kernels/modems, it would be awesome if you kept up on that and have Tom keep track of mods/hacks/guides/how-tos and other information.

Or, you guys figure it out... :D
