Open Letter to @pranavaryans:

I woke up this morning and saw your "Project abandoned" appearing in all your threads.

Tried to find the offending post but a Moderator was quicker.

No matter what was written, you have to simply ignore it.

I am a XDA member since 2010, started flashing roms on a Samsung Galaxy S, moved to a SII and then to the first Galaxy Note. The list goes on and on and my first Xiaomi Mi Max 2 should be finally arriving tomorrow.

During all this time XDA has provided me with invaluable information and countless fine roms and utilities.

And I did my best to help the community, sharing my ever increasing knowledge and helping other members whenever possible.

There are tons of friendly, helpful, bright, talented members always there to help you in any way possible.

But there are also mean, dumb, selfish members, ready to poison a thread.

It is up to us to keep these trolls away. And the best way is to simply ignore them.

If a post is too offensive, push the "Report" button and let a Moderator handle it. This is best because the offending post will go away and if the troll has a history he may be banned. One less to bother the community.

Take your time, enjoy other activities, but do not give up on us.

I am, and many of us are, flashoholics, and we need buildoholics like you.

Thanks for all the good work and forgive me for my previous joke posts. I can not resist to throw in some humor every once in while.

And please come back soon - ignoring trolls from now on - because they will always BE BACK, like Schwarzenegger.

Best Regards,

Sérgio

well, in the end its @pranavaryan ´s own personal decision and whatever that is we will have to accept it out of respect for him.

all we can do is show him that he is always warmly welcomed back here and that his work is appreciated by a lot of MM2 owners and active, productive XDA users.

in the meantime, go ahead and check out his work, all the roms hes compiled for us and think about what a TON of work hes come up with, same with the other devs like @Jay_B, @ROMFACTORY, @iscle, @kenzolo, @eva0034, @ashwin007, @xuefer, @V_v3k, @yshalsager, @greeshan, @alexpashenko, @rkmadotra, @Kapil Tapsi, @Escobar 1945, @leskal and others (listed in no particular order and in case ive forgotten anyone significant, please excuse the incompleteness :) )

Thank You Devs for all these Roms, God Bless, but why many 7.1.2s not 8.1s ?
because 7.1.2 original sources from xiaomi have been released, so its way easier to compile nougat custom roms than oreo.

there is no official oreo rom yet for the MM2, thus no oreo sources could be released.

U should also mention update date..due to this from ur post we can know which rom has got updated....just a request..
i was actually thinking about something similar these past few days. however, the respective rom threads do contain that info already, so its just a click away :)

plus, going down that road can open up a can of worms very easily: if including the last update date, why not also include a list of working / non-working components? or user reports on battery life? or give a list of specific rom characteristics that discerns one rom from all others?

all that is already discussed in the rom threads, so including it here would be double trouble.

not to mention that i would have to check ALL rom threads individually every single day just to make sure the dates in the OP are correct... sorry, but i cannot promise to be able to do that, too much RL in my way :D

so i think ill leave it as it is, a general overview of the rom landscape for our MM2, with rom specific details given in the linked threads/websites/repositories :)

hope u guys understand!

cheers

Yes very well said.

If user requires all the info about ROMs on index thread then what is the requirement of creating different threads for all ROMs?

crDroid updated to v3.8.7 up from v3.8.6

whenever there is an actual rom version bump (not just another nightly with bugfixes by the dev) that stays in the same thread as before ill include it in the OP.

just to clarify my modus operandi :)

Finally this week I received my two Mi Max 2.

Why two? I ordered my first one on GearBest on November 24, 2017 at the fantastic price of $199.99. It only arrived last monday, April 16, 2018!

Please do not think it was GearBest's fault. They are a fantastic store and I recommend them to everyone without hesitation.

The problem is always the brazilian post office. They must have simply left the postal bag stashed somewhere due to Christmas overload in December to find it only in March.

But what seemed a bad thing turned out to be good. After a few complains in March, GearBest made a full refund as a credit and I just bought another one. Guess what? The second on arrived last Wednesday!!

I got a full refund because my shipment was insured. I checked my insurance rule and the long delay justifies its use. This means I got the first one for free and do not need to pay it back.

So now I have two Xiaomi Max 2 at my disposal. I have just unlocked the first one and tomorrow I will unlock the second.

When I started checking the Mi Max 2 development forum I was concerned custom roms would be scarce. But I decided to take a chance and again I was lucky. So many options now that I do not know where to start.

Since I will have these two phones at my disposal with no need to put them in use in the near future I decided to benchmark AOSP roms.

Some of you who have a mido may have already seen my thread: [Updated 14-Apr-2018] Battery Life / Performance Benchmarks.

Take a look and tell me if you would like to have something similar done for the Mi Max 2.

Sorry for the somewhat OT, but I could no resist to tell my story.

wow! if all roms will be tested, it's just like the index, but more useful. thanks
