@DroidKing18:
This was a very useful thread. I was banging my head against GT-i9195 recoveries and none of them worked.
Are GT-i9195i custom roms limited to your list or are there any other available except this list ?

Am I correct in assuming that GT-i9195 roms wont work properly for my GT-i9195i as the recoveries didn't work either ??

So, if you have a GT-i9195i, then you do not have lineageos and twrp? I want to purchase a gt-i9195i, but if there are no twrp/lineageos then I should skip that...
So we have to install serranove version, not the serranoltexx, like https://mirrorbits.lineageos.org/fu...13.0-20170318-nightly-serranoltexx-signed.zip ?

rom-variation for the i9195i is limited and there are some issues with the builds, but I use it daily:

How to enable LTE for ATT in US

I have been trying to update my i9195i to work with the ATT LTE bands in the US. I have been able to do the NV edits correctly but still do not have LTE signal. I am wondering if I potentially need an different baseband and modem. Does anyone have modem specifically for the US that can be flashed to this model?
Thanks in advance for any help.

As far as I know, our device won't work in US with LTE. I'm on Tmo, and I only get 3g. It's not about software, we don't have the hardware. I think that US Cellular might support our bands, although I haven't tried (and if you decide to, please let me know results)

I have been following an older thread for adding LTE bands to Qualcomm phones from 2014 in regards to the Samsung S5. Using the QXDM and QPST i can clearly add LTE bands to the phone and they stick after reboot. However, I still do not have 4G LTE service in the US on ATT. It makes me wonder if I need a different modem but I haven't been able to find one for the i9195i that would be specific for the US market as the firmwares are largely from Europe. If someone could extract a modem that might flash successfully it would be greatly appreciated.

I was also following those threads, but I never got round to testing it. Pretty interesting stuff. Keep us posted, I'd love 4g

Hi! This is an index and guide about the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini plus i9195i :)
Rooting guide:
I downloaded Kingroot and rooted it there (even though it said not supported, it still worked). I then downloaded Super me and let it do it's magic (delete Kingroot apps and install SuperSU apps). It takes about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you can get your refund from the Play Store.
...
Hi there,

I rooted my GT-I9195I as described above: everything worked fine, thx. My purpose was to remove bloatware, but I could not: in application manager, uninstall button does not exist.

How do I remove bloatware? What app do I need? Can not remember which I used previously: it is a looong time ago I did this the last time (on other device). Thx for helping out...

Which Rom?

Hi, I have now rooted my serranoveltexx, installed Amplify (including Xposed) and Greenify, and I have experienced performance and battery improvements for the stock ROM.

What is the status of all the custom ROMs mentioned in the original post? Which is the most stable? And is it 95% stable or 100%? Which ROM are people using? Would it make sense to add a/open a new poll for this? I am not looking for cutting edge, but stability and decent performance.

By the way, LineageOS 15.0 by Danil_e71 can be added to the list.

The most stable ROM was definitely LineageOS 14, with only one bug that bothered me, which was the fact that sometimes, to connect to WiFi I had to reboot. LOS 15 isn't quite stable, and I remember CM 13 was ok, CM 12.1 kept bootlooping for me, and CM 11 had a fair share of bugs. (I doubt you'd want to flash the last two anyway.) I'd definitely recommend LOS 14 till most the bugs on LOS 15 are squished.

I'll add LOS 15 when I get a chance, thank you :)

I am very happy that Danil is working on porting to our relative obscure version of the s4 mini. Is he currently the only dev working on our device? Maybe, we could get somebody to stabilise LOS14 (as I am not skilled enough).

There have been other devs, but not full on committed devs. The closest to a dev, was a bug fix on LOSS 14, that fixed encryption, but otherwise nothing much. It's quite amazing that we have any dev at all, with a device like this, I'd usually expect to rely on TW. We probably could get more devs on the scene, if they are sponsored at i9195i

I have added a poll as per your suggestion, but I'm not sure how many votes it will actually get. I doubt many people even watch this thread these days. I don't even know how many people have this device anymore. LOS 15 has also been added
