I'M flashing the 6.0.1 ROM. But still shows this..

---------- Post added at 02:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:52 AM ----------

And what is that
(bootloader) slot-count: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
Not relevant... Completely normal for newer versions of fastboot, it is compatible with Pixel devices with multiple software slots. What you are seeing is just an informational message saying this device only had 1 slot.

Other files are flashed successfully and the phone also boots but the earpiece speaker not working in calls but when I flash mixermod which able the earpiece as stereo speaker then it works means no hardware damage.

Don't flash the bootloader and gpt.bin files. Skip those 2 files and flash everything else. For further info, search this thread. Your issue was already discussed.

For God's sake please read previous messages before posting ....this question is already being answered many times...since u r a junior member mistakes happen..but next time before putting a question plz make a search on the thread....

It is happening beacause your bootloader is updated...plz skip gpt and bootloader command...and remember...this will not lock your bootloader until new firmware image with latest security patch arrive..

Have a good day

you dont need to lock the bootloader to flash the stock ROM, besides, locking has no extra advantage over an unlocked one. the bootloader inside the firmware package you have downloaded is outdated and you have a newer one installed. just skip bootloader and flash the stock rom.

Happy Easter!

I (foolishly) "upgraded" my wife's Moto G (2015) 1540 2GB to lineage several months ago while impatiently waiting for security updates from Motorola. She's been complaining about a few issues and now that Lenovo has released Security Updates through January, I'd just as soon get her back on factory so I can blame them for any issues, rather than her blaming me. I've searched and read most of this thread but I'm seeing what seems to be conflicting information. If you would be so kind as to answer the following questions, I would appreciate it.

Device: Moto G (2015) osprey XT1540 16GB 2GB
BL: 80.CB (sha-cfa8344, 2015-11-20 18:51:42)
Baseband: M8916_2020629.41.03.21.51R OSPREY_RETUSA_AWS_CUST (not sure it's relevant but just in case)

1. ) Is it possible to flash the firmware in the original post for this device (flash recovery, wipe, flash rest of commands skipping the two that may be problematic if the bootloader is newer).

2. ) Once the shiny old factory firmware is back, what will happen when it detects and tries to install an OTA? Will it brick if the bootloader was never overwritten and is still too new?

3. ) Is the bootloader in the factory files in the OP for this device newer, older or the same version as the one on the phone currently?

4. ) Can anyone forsee any additional problems that I may encounter during this process?

Thank you for your time everyone, have a great day!

1) yes, that is what it's for... There no reason to skip anything unless you already have newer firmware.
2) it will install, it's stock now... Even if there is a problem, the likelihood of a brick situation is slim. The firmware installation script will likely just fail and restart.
3) don't know... Depends what you have now and what version you are looking at.
4) read the FAQ

@lost101
Thank you. My concern was that lineage may have updated my bootloader and after restoring to the factory image you so kindly provided, an OTA may fail and brick the device. I appreciate the quick response!

As far as Motorola Phones are concerned; the only time that partition is changed is via a firmware image (by flashing included bootloader.img) or Motorola OTA Update. A custom ROM will never make any changes to Bootloader.

buddy.......did u followed the instructions mentioned in the op carefully? did u made a factory reset on stock recovery before flashing the firmware image? did u checked the total sparsechunk number of ur zip file? i think or i may say i am confident that if u follow all the instructions mentioned in the thread u will not face any problem.............

and for custom rom.........there are other custom alternative based on nought.........namely lineage, aosp extended,rr etc..........they offer good sot.......also if u try custom 6.0.1 resurrection remix final build or dirty unicorns marshmallow they provide awesome sot(screen on time or great battery life).............try them if u wish

thanks

To restore my back up of stock 6.0.1 from custom 7.1.1 using twrp, do i need to wipe anything? I am stuck at boot logo when i tried to restore my back up after wiping system, data and cache. I tried to return to stock from custom 7.1.1. Where did I go wrong?
