I'm a bit lost... I don't know which image I should download. I have an XT1540 1GB, but I ordered it from amazon (international model) because I don't live in the US, and my carrier isn't in the list of the first post either.
Can anybody guide me here? I would like to have the image in my pc, in case I need it.

Retail US (2GB) - XT1540_OSPREY_RETUS_2GB_5.1.1_LPI23.72-47.4_cid9

I see the 1GB version made it to this thread, but not the 2GB version. What is the word for getting the 2GB version added to the thread?

for doing this i have to unlock the boatloader..???
Nope :)

You do understand that even if you system status says official, your warranty is still void, right? So why are you trying to get back to official status so bad?

When you request an unlock code, your warranty is void, even if you don't actually unlock your phone... It is clearly spelled out in the T&C. The System Status is not relevant, your device's warrant is void if you got an unlock code from Motorola... Now, if you found a way to unlock without getting a code from Moto that would be different but there currently isn't a way to do that.

@avi.dude0310: acejavelin is right about this.

Go to 'About Phone' and look in the 'System Version'. You will see it in the format:
XX.XX.X.osprey_retYY...

If the YY is US for you, download the US edition's image. If its CA,use the Canada one. Similarly, LA=> Latin America and
MX=> Mexico. But if you are in Canada or Latin America or Mexico and your device carrier isn't listed here,I guess the Factory firmware image for your phone is not available(yet).

PS: If this is the phone you bought(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZQVSKSM) and the system info shows 'CA' aka Canada for you,use the Canada Retail image. :)

Thanks! It's US for me, so I'm going with US retail. I suppose there is no problem with the version I download, right? Because my phone has 23.46.4, but it isn't in the list.

And yes, that the one I bought from Amazon! But mine is US, I use it in Latin America (Dominican Republic) and all data bands work for me, so I guess any US retail will still work for me :)

Yup.. No,the number 23.46.4 doesn't matter here.. Any image will work, but I recommend you to download the newer build for 1 GB US Retail,so that you don't have to go through the OTA updates after the first factory build :)

Hie guyz i am new to Android and i am having Moto G 2015. My friends got an OTA update for there Moto G 2015 but i didn't whats the reason?

Updates are rolled out in stages based on IMEI numbers, you could have 2 identical phones in the same house and one may get an OTA much quicker than the other

Great guess.

I added this firmware image to my Filefactory folder.

Hi!

I have a UK 2GB moto g 3rd gen! I'm interested in supplying an image as there doesn't seem to be one in the OP. If the Europe image is the same then I guess it's not an issue. If it is different, I'll be happy to contribute.

I have used TWRP to back up my stock rom... will this do or is there more to it than that?

I'm currently holding off flashing CyanogenMod for this so the sooner I can give you a back up rom the better (for me :D)

Cheers!

These are Factory Firmware Images, not system dumps from a phone.

Retail EU Images are normally identical to Retail UK.

Hi there. I am in the UK and I bought my moto g from moto maker.

It is the 2gb XT1541 with android 5.1.1 system version - 23.41.47.osprey_reteu_2gb.reteu.en.EU retgb (build number LPI23.72-47). Which version of your files should I flash to get back to stock (if I leave!)? The standard 2gb EU version?

I notice that the build number looks more similar to the 1gb GB version hence my confusion.
