Earlier build number?

Hi everybody,

I have a Moto G 2015, bought it for retail in the Netherlands. Currently running 5.1.1 stock but I was thinking about rooting the device.
System version: 23.41.47.osprey_reteu_2gb.reteu.en.EU retgb
Build number: LPI23.72-47

I noticed there was a difference between my build number and the factory image posted in the OP for the retail EU 2GB model.

Would it be safe to flash the image posted in the OP even though the build number seems to be an earlier version?

Thanks for reading,
Johannes

Your build is newer probably has the "stagefright" OTA and the one posted by the OP doesn't.
If you will root your device, do first a clean backup of your stock ROM with TWRP, if something goes wrong just restore the backup :good:

Thanks for your quick response!

Now, a total noob question: is it possible to make a Nandroid backup using TWRP without rooting your device first?

If so, that would be amazing!

Is possible and you can even keep the original boot.img (recovery ) if you want
>First unlock the bootloader of your device https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
>Download TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/orig-development/twrp-twrp-moto-g-2015-t3170537
>Boot TWRP and do the backup :highfive:

You get the phone from a official reseller ? because that model is Asia-Australia region, the XT1543 is for Brazil - Latin America
then. I bought in a store here in my town . I discovered these days that this model was that region and not from Brazil. And to make matters worse, the ROM is linked to a carrier. "tim"
would have trouble installing some rom retasia?
forgiveness for my English... google translator.. :)
