Connection timed out? Try to see if there's any Google-related line in /system/etc/hosts. If so, remove it. Also see if you set your date/time settings right

Hmm, everything is forbidden no internet access too.
I find the problem MK1 and MB8 has a different version of modems

Tried new CM build from @KINGbabasula. This is my report.

Install time is very short, much less than expected as has already been said by @bazzan.

I am no sure how to make a logcat. In CWM, before starting the install I get:

$ adb logcat
/sbin/sh: exec: line 1: logcat: not found

That is, the logcat executable is not present in the CWM environment.

After starting the install (during the install) I get this from an adb shell:

~ # logcat
/sbin/sh: logcat: Permission denied
~ # which logcat
/system/bin/logcat

Anyway, a log is collected in /tmp/recovery.log. This is a summary, full file below:

After a reboot, the phone stays in the initial samsung logo "Galaxy Express" for 30-40 seconds, vibrates a couple of time and reboots again.
Hi, I am getting same log message with my newly compiled cm11 for glaxy grand 2. Could you kindly let me know what was the exact error and how did you get rid off that. TIA

Just in case anyone else is on the GT-I8730T DUAML1 build trying to get root: I ended up flashing the DUAMD2 build via Odin and then using Motochopper to root successfully.

Now I'm just hunting wakelocks!
I know this is old, and maybe no one is interested, but just in case - I worked out how to root the stock GT-I8730T DUAML1 build.

1. Flash the GT-I8730T DUAMD2 build via Odin.
2. Download the OTA upgrade (to DUAML1) but do not install.
3. Root using Motochopper, but do not 'press any key' to reboot the phone. Don't let it reboot once it's rooted.
4. Install OTA rootkeeper on the phone and use it to protect root.
5. Install the OTA upgrade (via the phone) which you downloaded earlier and let the phone reboot.
6. Open OTA Rootkeeper and restore root.

What a hassle! But it worked for me.

Hi guys, I was trying Xblast build.prop mods for "faster" WiFi and 3G, but I think it actually messed up my 3G and wifi..
But I was clever enough to NOT backup my build.prop thinking I could just deactivate the tweaks the same way I activated them.. apparently not :/
I have a CWM backup but I really dont want te restore everything just for 1 file.
So does any1 have the original build.prop OR knows a way to extract it from the CWM backup?
Thanks

EDIT: Nvm.. for some reason my phone shut itself down and didn't boot anymore so I had to restore cwm backup

Such a nice surprise to see that this device now has its own forum, even though I've moved to the Nexus 6P. Keep up the good work, guys!

Updated first post!
- Removed TouchWiz ROM link
- Added the baseband thread
- Updated CyanogenMod links
- Updated TWRP links

Based on the posts I've read, the Express seems to have a faulty eMMC chip (on some units at least) that corrupts itself randomly,
similar to what happened to the Galaxy S3 a few years ago. Just an observation, but to be safe, don't wipe partitions (tick "Use rm -rf instead of formatting" in TWRP settings) and don't use TRIM apps, such as LagFree.

Major props to @kotzir for bringing Lollipop (and Marshmallow) to this device without actually owning this device. You're the best, man. :good:

I myself never even expected this device to get Marshmallow, so enjoy your devices if they still work, folks. :)

Microphone issue

Hello.
I have a microphone problem on my phone.
When I speak, everybody hear me badly, as if I were far away.
If I activate the speaker it's well.

Do you know this problem?

I tried with different rom.
Thanks.
