Using the Report Button

Why use the Report Button?

Use the Report button to notify the moderation team that there is a problem.
Here are some examples, for reporting a post.
  • Spam
  • The thread needs to be moved to a more appropriate section.
  • Abuse/Threats/Off-Topic
  • Other Rules have been Broken

How to use the Report Button.

Below every post, on the right side, there is a Report button
Capture.JPG
Click on that button
This box will pop-up
Screenshot 2021-07-11 122509.png
Fill out the Reason field
and click Report.
Follow Up

After the report is reviewed, a Moderator will send an update as an alert.
Most reports are handled within a few hours.
It's possible it may take a few days before you get a response/resolution.

Stop those emojis showing up in your posts

So you are trying to post some code on XDA and you are getting emojis in the code.
Or you want to post a non-Clickable URL

Example
(bootloader) is-logical:partition: not found
Screenshot 2021-10-01 090932.png

  • Option 1: Use the Quick Code box

    • Screenshot 2021-10-01 091600.png
    • Click on this icon </> (Code)
    • Screenshot 2021-10-01 092002.png
    • Enter Your Code
    • Click Continue
Example
If you use the Code tags like this
[Code](bootloader) is-logical:partition: not found[/Code]
It will look like this
Code:
(bootloader) is-logical:partition: not found
  • Option 2: Use Plain Text Tags (Disables BB code translation on the wrapped text.)
    • Enter your code between these
    • [Plain]Code here[/Plain
Example
If you use Plain Tags like this
[Plain](bootloader) is-logical:partition: not found[/Plain]
It will look like this
(bootloader) is-logical:partition: not found
URL Examples
Code tags as HTML code
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/index-xda-2021-how-to-navigate-the-new-site-layout.4197775
As General code
Code:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/index-xda-2021-how-to-navigate-the-new-site-layout.4197775
Plain Tags

What's this then?

At first I thought it is the like-button as in every post bottom left but it seems to be something distinctively different.

PS: For example, I think the first post of @sd_shadow and the thread itself would deserve this!

Thanks!

At first I didn't realize your answer was in the second link but, yes, I got it, finally... It's for upvoting answers to any own questions.

Who's idea was it to remove categories? It's completely non intuitive.

Isolating threads or even types of thread has become tedious..

Collating all the types of threads into one place is logical plus extremely familiar.

I don't understand why this was altered, it's a seriously bad idea..keep the tags for sure but the decision to remove the actual

Sections is a really strange one, it's just a mess now.

It's actually very easy to use the new prefixes.

I honestly couldn't disagree more. It's truly awful.

I think a vote or something would have been nice or at least a choice.
