So true. They used to call me every year and sweet talk into locking 2 preorders. One for me and the wife. I was naive to trust the price they gave for buyback was the best I could get. No more

I never bought a Samsung successor flagship from the same store I bought the predecessor from, though a bunch of stores are known to me and vice versa. Trust, salesmen, relationship with store proprietors cannot and must not co-exist for a customer because the customer is nothing but just a "product" that they use and there's always a better product somehwhere.

Last year I made such 8-9 friends across 3 smart cafes, croma, croma zip, vijay sales, reliance digital, 2-3 MBOS
I thought I am making fool out of them and they thought they made fool out of me
I tried my best, reading all comments here at xda
Tried all my bargains
Eventually bought online
This year when i visited few of them again, all inquired "liya s22 phir aapne"
By making friend all I meant was to sound familiar to them meanwhile I did inquiries at various stores, locations
And couldn't get any super deal anywhere
unlike few other xda buddies

Ok so you also felt the same? It's downright annoying the way they pretend to call some senior boss and say "Sir woh xyz aaye hai first device. De doo na?"
Then make you stand at the counter for another 3 hours clicking pics of you and making the 3 other bored customers hang around so people in the mall get to see "OMG Da Next Galaxy is so hot ppl are crowding"
Then at the end of the 4th hour they will force you to witness unboxing "your" phone and then force you to update the software through their crappy 8mbps connection which takes another 45 minutes. This is the part I hate the most but they used to literally force saying "Pehle sw update mandatory store ke andar se hoga"
I used to be mad pissed at the end of the launch day every single year.

After all these years of buying these flagships from the samsung stores (offline), now I don't want to go through all that physical labour and drama anymore! Even if I end up paying a little more online (less likely), offline deals aren't just worth the effort, IMO!

55-60k is the current sell-back price for S22U 256 gigs to vendors in most cities in India. It'll further go down. Anyone getting above 60k is lucky.

Any specific reason for prices to go down? I think Samsung has reduced prices of S22 and S22+ only, no changes in Ultra pricing.

all are in same boat
55k is what they quoting and ready to take happily
Does these devices really get sold as 2nd hand? so easily
without memory card, 256gb is too short now
1tb is going to be default choice for me going forward

Demand for predecessor goes down and so does its price drastically when the successor come up in the smartphone market.

Yes, the shopkeepers and the vendors/resellers can. The shopkeepers make money from both resellers and Samsung, resellers make by reselling.

Why have they kept online special colors limited to 256 gb?

So that, they can bring the higher version in coming days to increase the sale... Marketing mate... You cannot get all version in same time right.

Better to get from offline stores...official one was not good to stick for S22U last year
Indeed all local ones also did not last for long as screen is too big and these come with break in middle

That is why i will skip my pre-order and buy it from US. The Red color with black sides looks amazing. wish they sold 512 / 1 TB variants in India.

"Sir, I called you up few days back for pre-reserve with our store, but you did not". But since we care about our customers, you are still eligible for all the pre-reserve benefits, all you have to do is buy from us, all you need to pay is pre-book amount of 2k.

I did not pre-reserve from your store, so how does it make any sense?

How?

This year is the first time the "friendly" neighbourhood store hasn't called me and emo blackmailed. Glad they got the memo.
