Hello, is there any method or tool to unpack a kdz file and extract the individual stock images: system.img, boot.img, recovery.img ?
Also has anyone rooted using the new Magisk method for systemless root, by patching of the stock kernel and then flashing it ?
Thank you.

how i can change Apn setting in lg ls922? please help
Unless you have done the mod to get GSM functional there is no APN settings for this phone, vits a Sprint phone, they have the PRL Update instead. BUT, there is probably a APN setting with the modded radio when you make it work on T-Mobile or AT&T,vi forget which, but I think T-Mo.

Here's the mod I know of, but you gotta roll back your firmware and it's only possible if you haven't updated too far....

@autoprime I'd like to get the Android 8 that Verizon has on their G5 on my Sprint G5 (which is only on Android 7). Since it won't technically be downgrading, is it possible to use your tool to do this since they are both CDMA phones? (I've already downloaded the 2.5gb Verizon file: VS98730b_01_1008_ARB00.kdz

this reply is late and you probably already got your answer but i dont think uppercut would allow it.. but there are some modded "dev" lgup files around xda that may allow you to flash the partitions manually.

but either way.. you may not be able to use the verizon files due to the antirollback version. from the KDZ name you provided it looks as if verizons phone is at arb 00. not sure offhand if sprint is using antirollback but I would assume they have at least made it to arb 01 or higher by now.
*edit* it looks like Sprint at least uses antirollback 01 if you're on anything recent.. so be careful flashing anything with arb00 etc.

flashing arb 00 bootstack/modem files to a arb 01 (or higher) device would end in a brick.

Canadian LG-H831 has OEM Unlocking in Dev options?

Why is the Canadian G5 LG-H831 unrootable? People are saying the bootloader, but doesn't the dev option "Allow OEM Unlocking" make it work? Super confused and been googling around everywhere, but all forums are from 2016-2017ish

Is it unrootable? I have an H831 sitting here and was hoping to root and throw a ROM on it, but I suppose that may not be an option after all.

That option just enables pulling a code with adb. It does NOT unlock anything.

You use that to get another code from the OEM, if your device can be unlocked. The carrier determines that.
